Name of the Project : GAP Project “Design and Development of Non-Destructive Image Processing based diagnostic tool for Identification of Toxic Substances from some common food items”
Duration of the Project : Upto March, 2018 or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier
Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Sciences (Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Pharmacy/Environmental Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry) with NET qualification or equivalent4 OR Graduate Degree in Professional Course (Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Pharmacy) with NET qualification or equivalent4 OR Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course/M.Tech. (Nanotechnology/Biotechnology/Biomedical/Environmental Chemistry) or equivalent4
Desirable: Candidates with one year research experience will be preferred.

Name of the Project : GAP Project “All Dielectric, Plasmonic and Hybrid Photonic Nanostructures”
Duration of the Project : Upto May, 2019 or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. (Physics)
Desirable: Work experience in design and modeling of Nonlinear Optics, Plasmonic Devices, Tunable mid-IR Fiber Parametric and Supercontinuum Sources.

Please note:
1. The candidates who have already served CSIR-CSIO or any other lab / institute of CSIR as any Trainee / Project Assistant / Project Fellow / JRF / SRF / Research Associate etc. for a total period of 5 years or more are not eligible for these engagements. The candidates who have served for a period less than 5 years will have tenure upto for remaining period till completion of five years.
2. The upper age limit for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) is 28 years and for Research Associate (RA) is 35 years.

3. For positions of JRF/RA relaxation of age for SC/ST - 5 years, OBC - 3 years, PH (SC/ST) – 10+5, PH (UR) - 10 years and Widows, Divorced women and women Judicially separated from their husband and who are not re-married and falls under the category of UR upto 35 years, OBC upto 38 years and SC/ST upto 40 years will be applicable as per GOI/CSIR instructions.
4. In case a large No. of candidates turn up for Walk-in-interview, Selection/Screening Committee will have discretion to shortlist the candidates for interview In respect of equivalence clause in Essential Qualifications, if a candidate is claiming a particular qualification as equivalent qualification for recruitment as per the requirement of advertisement, then the candidate is required to produce order/letter in this regard, indicating the Authority (with number and date) under which it has been so treated otherwise the Application is liable to be rejected.
5. Medical Facilities for self will be provided through CSIR-CSIO Dispensary only to the extent available as per rules. This will be limited to self only and not for family members/dependents.
6. Reservation: As regards reservation, if all things are equal, SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates may be given preference over General candidates so as to ensure their representation.
7. List of selected and panel of candidates will be displayed on website.
8. The selected candidates are expected to join within fifteen days from the date of receiving of offer of appointment, after completion of pre-appointment formalities like medical examination and character verification etc.
9. The selected candidates will have to deposit an amount equivalent to Fifteen Day’s stipend as a Security Deposit (Refundable) with the Cashier, CSIR-CSIO, at the time of joining.
10. CSIR-CSIO reserve the right to cancel or withdraw the award in case of any discrepancy found, in the candidature of any selected candidate at any stage.
11. CSIR-CSIO reserves the right not to fill up a particular position, if it so desires. The number of vacancies indicated above may vary at the time of actual selection.
12. Other terms & conditions will be governed as per guidelines issued by the funding agency/CSIR Hqrs. for the engagement of above Project Staff as amended from time to time.
13. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
14. The above positions of JRF/RA in CSIR-CSIO are not temporary or otherwise. It is a contractual engagement co-terminus with the projects.
