CSIR- National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), is a premier plant science research institute, involved in multidisciplinary R&D programmes of both basic and applied nature across scientific disciplines for economic, environmental and societal benefits for the people of India. CSIR-NBRI undertakes basic and applied research in strategically important areas of plant sciences.

Eligible & interested candidates are invited for interview for the purely temporary positions in the following areas under the sponsored projects tenable at CSIR-NBRI:-

Area I : Biodiversity & Bioprospection
Project Scientist
Essential Qualifications : Ph.D. in Botany/ Plant Science with uniformly outstanding academic record and clear potential for high quality R&D work.
Desirable : 2years Post Ph.D. research experience in Plant Taxonomy
Age : 40 years
Stipend : Rs.50000/- p.m.

Project Assistant Level III
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc.(55%) in Botany/ Plant Science with two years post M.Sc. research experience
Desirable : Experience in Plant Taxonomy with survey and collection in field.
Age : 35 years
Stipend : Rs.28000/- p.m.

JRF(Project )
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. in Botany/Biotechnology/Plant Science with CSIR/UGC/ ICAR/DBT NET-JRF/LS qualifications .
Desirable : Experience in Survey, collection and DNA profiling
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/- p.m + HRA

Project Assistant Level II
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc.(55%) in Botany/Biotechnology/ Plant Science.
Desirable : Experience in Survey, collection and DNA profiling Or Basic knowledge of plant taxonomy, flora ecological sampling and computer application
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.12000/- p.m.+HRA or Rs.16000/- p.m or Rs.25000/- p.m.

 

* The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of Project Scientist/PAIII/PAII in the project entitled, “Exploration of plant diversity in un/underexplored areas of Manipur and Nagaland Inventory, conservation of threatened and endemic plant, field germplasm land and bioprospection of selected tree for using as bioresources” & following or other projects if needed.
* The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of JRF/PA II in the project entitled, “Metagenomic and transcriptomic studies on Termitomyces growing fungal combs of termites found in Assam for bioprospection ” or “Molecular systematic of the Genus Betula L. (Betulaceae) in India & following or other projects if needed.
* The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of PA Level II in the project entitled, “Monographic studies on the genus Geranium with special emphasis on the phytosociological and conservation status” & following or other projects if needed.

Area II : Biodiversity & Bioprospection :
Research Associate

Essential Qualifications : Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Botany/ Life Science/Biological Science /Bioinformatics / Microbiology/ Genetics
Desirable : Experience in molecular Biology techniques, computational data analysis with at least two publications in SCI journals or Experience in molecular markers, genetic mapping, QTL, analysis , molecular biology techniques and other computational data analysis.
Age : 35 years
Stipend : Rs.40000/- +HRA or, Rs.36000/- p.m + HRA

Project Assistant Level- III/SRF (Project)
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc (55%) in Biotechnology/ Botany/Plant Science/ Life Science Biochemistry/ Microbiology and should have completed at least 2 years post M.Sc research experience in the aforesaid subject or M.Tech (55%) in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry
Desirable : Experience in molecular biology techniques/plant tissue culture protein purification and bioinformatics or Experience in molecular Biology techniques, computational data analysis
Age : 35 years
Stipend : Rs.28000/ p.m.+ HRA

JRF (Project)
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Life Science/Biochemistry with CSIR/UGC/ ICAR/DBT NETJRF/ LS /GATE qualifications.
Desirable : Experience in molecular biology/Biochemistry techniques or Experience in using bioinformatics tools and coding programmes in Perl/C language and SNP typing data.
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/ p.m.+ HRA

1) The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of RA in the project entitled, “Role of NPRI in global nucleosomal remodeling in Arabidopsis thaliana” & following or other projects if needed
2) The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of RA/JRF in the project entitled, “Secondary plant product pathway engineering for enhanced nutritional quality of yield” & “Development of consensus genetic linkage map for Gossypium L. spp. With SNP markers and QTL analysis for fiber traits ” & following or other projects if needed.
3) The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of SRF/ PA III in the project entitled, “Combining proteomics and transcriptome sequencing to identify putative RNAi targets for mealybug (Phenacoccus solenopsis) and their functional validation” & “To Decipher protein interaction Network of TAF4b(TBP associated factor 4b) involved in plant defense” following or other projects if needed.

Area III: Agricultural Sciences
SRF

Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. (55%) in Agronomy/Horticulture/Soil Science/Botany
Desirable : Experience in Field experiment on medicinal crop and knowledge of plant taxonomy
Age : 35 years
Stipend : Rs.25000 /p.m.+ HRA

The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of PA Level II in the project entitled, “Revalidation of Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) to develop agro-technology for the cultivation of medicinal plants” or other projects if needed.

Age : Age of the candidate will be reckoned as on date of walk in interview. However, Age relaxation for all the positions as per Government of India/CSIR instructions.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
HRA will be admissible as per sanction of the projects.
a) The Application form will be provided at the venue on the date. However, candidates may download the application form in advance from the website www.nbri.res.in. At the time of interview candidates should bring one latest photograph, original documents along with self attested copy of certificates of examinations passed (starting from matriculation), certificate indicating date of birth, caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC) and experience certificate, etc. Tentative mark sheets/certificates and 'result awaited' will not be considered. All eligible candidates are requested to be present at the venue on the said date one hour before the scheduled time for necessary documents verification etc.
b) Mode of Selection: Through Interview. However, if large number of candidates turn up, a Screening test comprising of multiple choice objective questions may be held for short listing the candidates for interview. The short listed candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee and, based on the performance in the interview; a panel of recommended candidates will be formed. The panel shall be utilized as and when the requirement arises in the projects in the relevant field/area. Candidates have the option to interact in Hindi/English before the committee. In case of turning up of large no. of candidates, interview may continue for next day.
c) The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co- terminus with the sponsored projects. Further the above stipend(s) is tentative and the same will be finally decided based on the availability/provision of funds in the relevant sponsored projects.
d) In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute.
e) To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects should turn up for walk in interview

No TA/DA will be admissible.
