Birla Institute of Technology (Deemed University u/s 3 of UGC Act 1956) is one of the premier institutes imparting education and conducting research in the fields of Engineering, Management, Architecture and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Institute invites applications from Indian Nationals, possessing excellent academic background, commitment to quality teaching and potential in carrying out outstanding research, for Faculty positions at all levels and to manage its growth, Non-faculty positions at various levels on Regular/Deputation/Contract basis at Mesra campus and extension centres located at Allahabad, Lalpur, Deoghar, Noida, Patna, Kolkata, and Jaipur. Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Data Management, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Technology.

Professor
Qualification: A Ph. D. Degree with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch / discipline with a consistently good academic record throughout. Post PhD publications and guiding PhD students is highly desirable.
Experience: Minimum 10 years Teaching / Research / Industrial Experience, excluding experience gained during Ph. D. Programme, of which at least 4 years as Associate Professor in premier Academic Institution.

Associate Professor
Qualification: A Ph. D. Degree with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch / discipline with a consistently good academic record throughout. Post PhD publications and guiding PhD students is highly desirable.
Experience: Minimum 6 years Teaching / Research / Industrial Experience excluding experience gained during Ph. D. Programme, of which at least 3 years as Assistant Professor in premier Academic Institution.

Assistant Professor
Qualification: A Ph. D. Degree with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch / discipline with a consistently good academic record throughout.
Experience: Minimum 3 years Teaching / Research / Industrial Experience, excluding experience gained during Ph. D. Programme *.

* Note :-
For Assistant Professor -
(i) Ph.D. candidates with less than three years experience may also apply. Such candidates will normally be considered for Assistant Professor (on Contract) and will be eligible to be considered for a regular position, once they obtain 3 years experience. These candidates would be placed in Pay band III (Rs. 15,600- 39,100/-) with AGP of Rs. 6,000/-.
(ii) Ph.D. is compulsory for Science, Humanities and Management Disciplines / Subjects. However, For other disciplines candidates with ME / M. Tech / M. Pharm /M Arch / MUP or equivalent having degree level teaching experience of 3 years may also apply, provided they are registered for Ph. D. Programme. Such candidates will normally be considered for Assistant Professor (on Contract) and will be eligible to be considered for a regular position after acquiring Ph.D. and 3 years experience excluding Ph.D. period. These candidates would be placed in Pay band III (Rs. 15,600- 39,100/-) with AGP of Rs. 6,000/-.

3 years Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Science /Civil / Electronics / IT / Chemical / Polymer / Production / Biotechnology OR D.Pharm OR D.Arch OR Senior/Higher Secondary (10+2) in Science (PCMB) and ITI Course of one year or higher duration OR Matriculation/Secondary with ITI Certificate of two year duration in any of the recognized trades in following trade(s) –
Electrician, Electronic Technician, Fitter, Machinist, Welder, Refrigeration Mechanic, Carpenter, Mason or any other comparable trade.
Desirable : Experience and knowledge in computer application, electronic instruments, repairing & maintenance, handling of sophisticated instruments, practical experience in fabricating scientific or engineering products. Experience in any Engineering /Technical Institutes like IITs/IISERs/IISc/NITs or in any University / Deemed University or National level institutions recognized by MHRD/UGC

Laboratory Assistant
Bachelor’s Degree in Science OR D.Pharm OR D.Arch OR 3 years Diploma in Engineering in following stream / branches - Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics/ Bio-Sciences / Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Science/Civil / Electronics / IT / Chemical / Polymer / Production / Biotechnology / Biomedical

Information / Instruction
(1) Candidates who are in employment with Government, Semi-Government, Autonomous Bodies, Public Undertakings, University and Educational Institutions should route their applications through proper channel.
(2) Before applying, candidate should read the complete advertisement carefully and ensure that he/she fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria of post stated in the advertisement in all respect.
(3) Separate application forms along with Demand Draft, copies of certificates and testimonials as required need to be sent for different posts for candidates desirous of applying more than one post. Candidates should apply in the prescribed format only for this recruitment.
(4) The Application form on prescribed format must accompany photograph, self attested copies of certificates, marks sheets, experience, research experience, publication(s) etc.
(5) Candidates will be interviewed only after scrutiny of education & experience certificate. Eligibility of a candidate with regard to qualification and experience shall be calculated/ considered with reference to the last date of the receipt for application.
(6) The Institute reserves the right to
(i) conduct written/trade tests for such posts wherever the circumstances so warrant or may fix a criteria after taking into account the qualification and experience of the applicants without conducting any written test
(ii) not to fill any of the advertised positions
(iii) fill consequential vacancies including additional posts arising at the time of interview from available candidates by direct recruitment / deputation/contract.
(7) The Institute reserves the right to screen and call only such candidates as is found prima-facie suitable for being considered by the Selection Committee. Thus, just fulfilling the prescribed conditions would not entitle one to be called for interview.
(8) The Institute reserves the right to rectify any discrepancy of this advertisement, if found later on. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of letter of appointment, the Institute reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate.

(10)The decision of BIT in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance, rejection of the application form, interview, verification of testimonials and selection will be final and binding on the candidates.
(11) The Institute may consider candidates whose areas of specialization lie outside those stated herein, provided these persons have an outstanding record.
(12) Candidates who are interviewed for one post may be redesignated as per Institute cadre structure.
(13) The candidate is responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application. If it is found at a later date that any information given in the application is Incorrect / false the candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled/terminated.
(14) Interim correspondence will not be entertained or replied to. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding reason for not being called for interview/outcome of interview.
(15) Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.
(16) Any dispute with regard to the selection / recruitment process will be subject to Courts / Tribunals having jurisdiction over Ranchi.
(17) The Institute will not be responsible for non-receipt of application(s) within the stipulated date due to any postal delay / loss of application / document sent in transit.
(18) Applications should be accompanied with a non-refundable demand draft of Rs. 500/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PHs and for candidates belonging other categories a non-refundable demand draft of Rs.1000/- drawn in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology " payable at Ranchi towards application fee. Candidates are advised to write their name and post applied for on the backside of the demand draft.
(19) The complete application form along with enclosures, Demand Draft must reach in a sealed envelope by hand or by speed post to Deputy Registrar (Estt. & Recruitment), Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi – 835215 on or before the last date for submission of application i.e. 10.04.2012. Kindly superscribe on the envelop with the post applied for and Department.
