The Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA)is the first ‘Institute of National Importance’ in the sector of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy). The parliament of India passed the ‘Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda Act, 2020’ and the provisions of this act came into force on 15 October 2020. The ITRA is formed by the amalgamation of three different institutes namely(i) The Institute of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (IPGT & RA), (ii) Shree Gulabkunverba Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, and (iii) The Indian Institute of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Sciences, Jamnagar.

Deputy Director (Pharmacy)
Group / Pay Level : A/Level-11
No of post : 01 - GEN/UR
Educational & Other Qualification : Pay Scale : Level-11 (Rs.67,700-2,08,700) in the Pay Matrix as per 7 CPC+NPA as
admissible as per Central Govt. Rule.
Maximum Age : Not exceeding 45 years. (Relaxable as per order issued by the Central Govt, from time to time)
Essential :
i. A degree in Ayurveda or Pharmacy from Institute/University established by law or statutory body.
ii. A recognised Postgraduate degree in Rasashasthra and Bhaishajya Kalpana or Dravyaguna discipline of Ayurveda.
OR
M. Pharma (Ayurveda) degree from recognized University/Institute.
OR
M. Sc. (Medicinal Plants) with bachelor in Ayurveda background degree from recognized University/Institute.
Experience :
Six years of Teaching/industry/pharmacy experience in a recognized institution in concerned subject after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D. Ayu, or M.Pharma Ayu. or M.Sc. (Medicinal Plants).
OR
Six years of Research experience as full time researcher (after possessing Post Graduate qualification in any subject of Ayurveda) in Research Councils of Central Government or State Government or Union territory or University or National Institutions or NABL accredited Research Laboratory.
Desirable :
i. Ph.D. degree in any concerned/ relevant discipline. Five (05) research publications in peer reviewed or UGC Care listed journals and total research/academic score of 120 as per the criteria given in UGC Regulations 2018 or latest research/academic score recommended by UGC time to time.
ii. The candidate must be registered with concerned council.
Pharmaceutical Chemist
Group / Pay Level : A / Level -11
No of post : 01 - GEN/UR
Pay Scale : Pay Matrix Level -11 (Rs.67,700-2,08,700) as per 7th CPC.
Maximum Age : Not exceeding 45 years.
Essential:
1. Educational qualification :
a) M. Pharm (Ayu)/M. Pharm in Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry OR M.Sc. (Analytical/ Organic/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry) OR M.Sc. (Medicinal Plants) in Phytochemistry.
b) Ph.D. degree in concerned subject.
2. Experience : Five years regular/full-time teaching/research experience in the concerned subject from recognized teaching/research Institute after obtaining PG degree.
3. At least five research papers published in journals indexed in Scopus or PubMed or having Impact factor (as per Journal Citation Reports).
Desirable :
1. Research experience of working on the Ayurvedic or Natural drugs.
2. Experience of undertaking independent research Projects as Principal Investigator (PI).
3. Experience of undertaking / leading sponsored R&D projects/consultancy and related activities
General Information and Conditions

2. These posts carry allowances admissible under Central Government rules, as applicable to employees of the Institute of Teaching & Research in Ayurveda (ITRA).
3. Theses posts are covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) of the Government of India, as applicable in the Institute.
4. The applicant must meet the essential requirements of the post and all other conditions stipulated in the advertisement as of the last date for receipt of applications. Applicants are advised to ensure, before applying, that they fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria for the respective posts. No enquiries or requests for advice regarding eligibility will be entertained.
5. The prescribed essential criteria are the minimum requirements, and mere possession of them does not entitle a candidate to be called for a written test, skill test, and/or interview. The Competent Authority reserves the right to shortlist candidates on the basis of higher qualifications, additional years of experience in the relevant field, performance in a screening test, or any other criteria deemed appropriate. The decision of the Competent Authority shall be final and binding in this regard.

9. The Institute reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies, to withdraw any or all advertised posts, and to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason whatsoever, at any stage of the recruitment process.

12. The candidate working/serving in Govt./Autonomous/Statutory bodies/PSU/Quasi Govt. Offices etc. should apply "through proper channel" with ’NO OBJECTION1 Certificate and their duly forwarded application should reach the Office of the Director, ITRA on or before the closing date of application received. In case they do not furnish the same, their candidature will straight away be rejected.
13. However, application may be considered if candidate submit an advance copy within the due date, subject to the condition that the application and the NOC forwarded through proper channel is received at a later stage before the initiation of recruitment procedures.
14. While forwarding the application, the sponsoring authority/employer must verify the particulars of the applicant and certify that he/she meets the eligibility criteria. The certificate must also confirm that the applicant is clear from the vigilance angle and that no disciplinary proceedings are pending or contemplated against him/her.
15. Applicants applying for more than one post must submit a separate application for each post, along with all necessary documents and the applicable application fee.
16. Applicants must attach all relevant certificates supporting their educational qualifications, experience, and other eligibility criteria. Additionally, Gazette or Marriage Certificates must be provided if applying under a name different from that mentioned in official records.
17. Applicants employed in Government, Autonomous, Statutory Bodies, PSUs, or Quasi-Government Offices must attach photocopies of their complete ACR/APAR dossiers for the last five years, duly attested by an Under Secretary or an officer of equivalent rank in their organization. They must also keep the originals, along with all other required documents, ready for verification at the time of document checking and/or interview, if called for.
18. Applicants will be fully responsible for the accuracy of the information provided. Any incorrect or misleading information found at any stage may lead to disqualification or dismissal from the service, and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
19. The Institute will not be responsible for any delay in receipt of applications. Applications received after the last date or found incomplete in any respect will be summarily rejected without any intimation.
20. Interview call letters and/or Written test, if the candidate is shortlisted, will be communicated via email.
21. Appointment to any post will be subjected to the certification of physical fitness by a Competent Medical Board or Medical Authority.

28. Reservation:
a. Reservation & age relaxation:
i. Reservation & age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India Rules.
ii. Reservation of SC/ST/OBC (below creamy layer), Persons with Disabilities (PWD)/Physically handicapped (PH)/Economically Weaker section will be as per rules and existing policies of Central Government.
iii. Applications not supported by the appropriate certificate for the reservation category claimed, will be treated as General/Unreserved. In case Institute observes any fraud or discrepancy in their certificate, their candidature will be rejected summarily. No correspondence will be entertained at all.
iv. SC/ST/OBC/PH/Economically Weaker section candidates are required to produce original certificate in the prescribed copy of format signed by the specified authority, at the time of interview. It is mandatory.
v. Reservation will be applicable as per Central Govt, norms for direct recruitment. In case, the vacancy is filled up through deputation, suitable candidates from all category fulfilling the eligibility condition will be considered.
vi. In case suitable Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) candidates are not found, these posts will NOT be carried forward/or considered as backlog vacancy, hence Unreserved (UR) candidates are also be allowed provisionally to apply against EWSs posts advertised through above referred advertisement who may be considered incase suitable EWSs candidate are not found to fill up these posts reserved for EWSs.
vii. All candidates are permitted to apply against posts earmarked for EWS subject to the following conditions:
b) That their candidature will be considered only if EWS applicants are not available.
c) That their candidature will be as UR candidates only, which means, there shall be no relaxations
which are otherwise permitted under their specific categories.

29. The OBC candidates belonging to "Creamy Layer" are not entitled to concession entitled to OBC-NCL candidates and such candidates have to indicate their category as Unreserved (UR).
30. Only such PWD persons would be eligible for reservation in services/posts who suffer from not less than 40 per cent (Forty per cent) of relevant disability. A person who wants to avail of benefit of reservation would have to submit a Disability Certificate issued by a competent authority. The Certificate for PWD must indicate the percentage of disability. Horizontal reservation will be implemented.
31. The reserved category candidates are required to submit original certificates in prescribed format of the Central Government, issued by the competent authority at the time of document verification, in support of their claim.
32. The candidates are required to show their original certificates at the time of document verification, in support of the copies of certificates attached with the application.
33. Candidate applying for more than one post must send separate application for each post along with application fee.

36. Invalid Applications :

42. Other Information For The Candidates
a) Short Listing/Methods of the Selection: The prescribed qualification is minimum and mere possessing the same does not entitle any candidate to be called for interview or for selection. Based on bio-data, the Screening Committee may short list candidates for interview. In the event of large no of application received, Competent Authority reserves right to exercise any method of short listing as may be deemed fit. The candidate should, mention all his/her qualifications and experience over and above the minimum qualifications. Candidates called for interview will have to produce all relevant original documents in proof of details furnished in their application at the time of interview. They may also be asked to submit an affidavit/declaration as decided by the ITRA, Jamnagar at time of Interview. The methodology of Selection will be decided by the Selection Committee as deemed fit besides any other matter relating to the selection process.
b) Site of Interview: Interviews will be held at ITRA or any other place as decided by the Director, ITRA, Jamnagar. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview. The Summoning of candidates for interview convey no assurance whatsoever that they will be selected.
c) ITRA, Jamnagar decision is final:
The decision of the ITRA, Jamnagar in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications, penalty for false information, mode of selection, methodologies for the selection, selection and allotment of posts to selected candidates will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry/ correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
d) Any corrigendum or revision of the advertisement or any other information regarding this recruitment will be posted on the Official website of ITRA, Jamnagar only in due course. Candidates are advised to visit our website regularly for updated information in this regard.
e) Institute Teaching & Research in Ayurveda is an autonomous body established under Act of Parliament.
f) Service under the Institute is governed by that Act and the Rules & Regulations framed there under.

h) All the posts carry usual allowances as admissible to Central Government Employees of similar status at ITRA, Jamnagar.
i) The applicants, who do not have requisite qualifications as on cutoff date, will not be considered and will be summarily rejected.
j) Incomplete application(s) will be summarily rejected. Applications received after the last date of submission will not be considered.
k) Multiple Applications for the same post are prohibited. In case of multiple applications for the same post, last application may be considered. However, it will be the discretion of the Competent Authority to accept/reject any applications.
I) The period of experience wherever prescribed shall be counted after obtaining the prescribed educational qualification.
m) In connection with selection process, Institute may ask the candidates for any explanation, clarification and documents. Candidates will be bound to provide information and documents as and when requested by the Competent Authority, ITRA, Jamnagar, n) The candidates are likely to be posted at centers attached with the Institute for the period to be decided by the Institute as applicable, o) ITRA, Jamnagar reserves the rights to increase or decrease the number of vacancies, p) While every effort will be made to provide residential accommodation to the Faculty appointed at the Institute subject to availability but in view of the paucity of the residential accommodation in the campus, it may not be possible to provide accommodation in every case. In the event that no accommodation is provided, necessary H.R.A. as admissible to Central Government Servants of similar status stationed at ITRA, Jamnagar will be provided, subject to staying within the municipal limit of the Institute, q) Canvassing of any kind will be a disqualification, r) The candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law.

xii. attempting to commit or, as the case may be, abetting the ITRA, Jamnagar of all or any of the acts specified in the foregoing clauses may, in addition to rendering himself/herself liable to criminal prosecution, or
xiii. violation of any clause of this advertisement and subsequent recruitment process & even after selection/appointment, be liable:
I. to be disqualified by the ITRA, Jamnagar from selection for which he/she is a candidate, and/or
II. to be debarred either permanently or for a specified period: -
