Chikungunya virus Research positions for PG degree candidates at NII

The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is committed to advanced research addressing the basic mechanisms involved in body's defence to identify modalities for manipulation of the immune system to provide protection against diseases and understand mechanisms that can be used to target disease processes for intervention.

Post : Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) (One position only)

Applications are invited for the one contractual position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) for the following time-bound sponsored project as per the details given below

Educational Qualifications : • Must have secured a First-Class M.Sc degree with qualified NET (such as CSIR, DBT, ICMR etc. or an equivalent examination. Or with a Second-class M.Sc degree and a qualified NET (CSIR, DBT, ICMR etc) or equivalent examinations, the candidate must have at least three years of research experience in a reputed institute or a PhD.
• Must have at least two publications in an internationally reputed journal.

Desirable : Must have knowledge in the area of cell signalling and viral Immunology

Job Description : Must have basic expertise in biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology techniques.

Emoluments : The selected candidates will draw consolidated emoluments as per Institute rules, depending upon qualification & experience : Rs. 56,000/- per month plus 30% HRA (As per funding agency norms)

General Terms & Conditions
1. The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for one year or till the duration of the project whichever is shorter, at a time.
2. No hostel/ housing facility will be provided.
3. Applicants may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, if called for.
5. Apart from sending application in the prescribed format given below, candidates should send complete Curriculum Vitae along with the names of three referees. Curriculum Vitae should contain details of the experimental expertise and list of publications.
6. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
7. The interviews will be held in offline/online mode.
