National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Hajipur is an Institute of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament 2007 under the aegis of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. 

Online Applications are invited from the eligible and suitable Indian Nationals for the Teaching and Non- Teaching posts on a direct recruitment/deputation basis through open competition on an all-India basis.

Professor 
Pay Level : Level-14/7th CPC 
Post Code : T-01
Discipline / Department : Biotechnology
A. Essential Qualification and Experience : PhD with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least 10 years of Teaching/ Research/ Industrial experience with published works of high quality, well recognised and established reputation of having made a conspicuous seminal contribution to knowledge in Pharmaceutical and allied areas. 
B.Desirable : The candidate should possess extensive long-term experience in protein engineering, biosimilar development, and bioprocess engineering (upstream and downstream), including clone design and development, protein/peptide expression, purification, characterisation, and bioassay development. Expertise in systems biology, synthetic biology, recombinant antibody development, and advanced therapeutics such as cell and gene therapy (including CAR-T and CRISPR technologies) will be considered an added advantage. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of three (3) years of experience at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent industry experience, who have demonstrated independent research capability, evidenced by: Successful guidance of Master’s students and at least two (2) PhD scholars, completion of at least one externally funded (EMR) or industry-sponsored research project, technology transfer activities, where applicable, a strong publication record in reputed peer-reviewed journals, granted or filed patents, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and administrative experience, such as the establishment or development of academic departments, centres, or programs

Professor

A. Essential Qualification and Experience : PhD with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least 10 years of Teaching/ Research/ Industrial experience with published works of high quality, well recognised and established reputation of having made a conspicuous seminal contribution to knowledge in Pharmaceutical and allied areas
B. Desirable : The candidate shall possess proven experience in Quality by Design (QbD), analytical method development and validation in accordance with national and international regulatory guidelines, along with hands-on expertise in sophisticated analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, LC– MS/MS, ICP–MS, GC–MS, and related platforms. Exposure to interdisciplinary analytical research across pharmaceuticals, biologics, and natural products—including omics approaches, standardization, trace and impurity analysis, metabolomics profiling, and related advanced analytical methodologies—will be given preference. The candidate should also demonstrate sound knowledge and practical experience in quality systems, including GLP and GMP practices, analytical testing services, documentation and compliance, and a record of participation in institutional governance and policy-making activities. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of three (3) years of experience at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent industry experience, who have demonstrated independent research leadership, as evidenced by: Successful guidance of Master’s students and at least two (2) PhD scholars, Completion of at least one externally funded (EMR) or industry-sponsored research project, Engagement in technology transfer activities, A strong publication record in reputed peer- reviewed journals, Granted or filed patents, Demonstrated excellence in teaching, and Administrative experience, such as the establishment or development of academic departments, laboratories, centres, or academic programs.

Associate Professor
Pay Level : Level-13/7th CPC

A. Essential Qualification and Experience : PhD with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least 8 years of Teaching/ Research/ Industrial experience with published works of high quality, well recognised and established reputation of having made a conspicuous seminal contribution to knowledge in Pharmaceutical and allied areas.
B. Desirable : The candidate should possess demonstrated expertise in molecular pharmacology and pharmacogenomics, with substantial experience in in vitro and in vivo pharmacological assays, screening of New Chemical Entity (NCE) libraries, and development or application of alternatives to conventional animal models. Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) with applications in target identification, hit-to-lead optimization, de novo drug design, ADMET and toxicity prediction, and the use of AI-enabled platforms (e.g., Atomwise) for exploration of chemical space, genomic datasets, and structure–activity relationships (SARs) will be considered desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of three (3) years of experience at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent industry experience, who have demonstrated independent research capability, evidenced by: Successful guidance of Master’s students and at least one (1) PhD scholar, Completion of at least one externally funded (EMR) or industry-sponsored research project, Participation in technology development and/or technology transfer activities, A strong publication record in reputed peer-reviewed journals, Granted or filed patents, where applicable, Demonstrated excellence in teaching, and Administrative or academic development experience, such as establishment or strengthening of laboratories, academic programs, centres, or departments.

Assistant Professor
Pay Level : Level-12/7th CPC 
Post Code : T-04
Discipline / Department : Pharmacology & Toxicology
A. Essential Qualification and Experience : PhD with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least 5 years of Teaching/ Research/ Industrial experience with published works of high quality
B. Desirable : The candidate should possess knowledge and hands-on experience in molecular pharmacology, including in vitro cell culture techniques, Western blotting, PCR-based assays, and confocal microscopy, as well as experience in pre-clinical IND-enabling studies and in the development or application of alternatives to conventional animal models. Proficiency in AI/ML-driven in silico drug discovery approaches, including molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulations, and computational drug design, is highly desirable. In addition, a strong record of publications, patents, and competitive research grants, coupled with proven leadership as a Principal Investigator, experience in mentoring multidisciplinary research teams, and demonstrated capability to drive independent, translational research programs, will be considered highly desirable.

General Instructions
1. Candidates of only Indian Nationality can apply for these posts. 
2. Candidates should read the requisite essential qualifications, age, experience criteria, etc., carefully, laid down in the advertisement before applying for the relevant post. Since all applications will be screened based on the data submitted by the candidate in the “Application form (Hard Copy only)”, candidates must ensure that they are suitable for the position to which they are applying. If at any stage of the recruitment and selection process it is discovered that candidates have provided false or incorrect information, their candidature will be rejected. 
3. Application once submitted cannot be altered/ resubmitted under any circumstances. Furthermore, requests for changes to any data/particulars entered by the candidate in the Online Application will not be entertained once the application is successfully submitted. Therefore, please keep all data/details ready before you start filling out the Online Application. 
4. Candidates may apply on the prescribed application form online from the NIPER-Hajipur Website. They can apply for more than one post and more than one category, provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria. In such cases, the candidate must apply for each post and category separately and pay the application fee accordingly. However, based on the number of candidates applying for different posts, the institute reserves the right to hold a written test and/or an Interview for the various posts together or separately on a single or multiple days across various sessions, as deemed suitable by the institute. 
5. Incomplete online application or Hard copy of application or those without relevant supporting documents (self-attested copies of Date of birth/ Degrees /Certificates/Mark sheets/Experience Certificates in the prescribed format (Annexure-I) / documents, etc.) will be rejected. 
6. Mere fulfilment of minimum qualifications and experience does not entitle any candidate to receive a call letter. 
7. The applicants serving in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSUs/Autonomous organisations must send their hard copy of the Application Form (in the prescribed format) along with the relevant documents “Through Proper Channel”. Such candidates are required to send advance copies of their applications before the due date, but their candidature shall only be considered if their applications are received through the proper channel within 15 days of the closing date of receipt of hard copies of their applications, or a No Objection Certificate from their current employer must be attached. Without which the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the Test/Interview. 
8. The Deputation is for 02 years, extendable as per GoI norms and at the discretion of the institute's competent authority. The terms and conditions of deputation will be governed by the provisions contained in DOPT's O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17th June 2010, and the Government of India's instructions issued from time to time on the subject. The deputation period may be extended for a further year based on performance / institutional requirements. 
9. The candidate applying for the post on a deputation basis should hold a post on a permanent basis. Since the deputation refers to the deployment of a person outside the normal field, the candidature of the Staff of this Institute shall not be considered for the post. 
10. Applicants, who are applying on deputation have to submit their application (copy of successfully submitted online application) along with APARs of the last 3 years, Vigilance Clearance certificate and Integrity Certificate “Through Proper Channel”. 

11. Selection Committee reserves the right to recommend higher initial pay to exceptionally qualified, experienced and deserving selected candidates as per the Government of India rules. 
12. The institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications, level, and relevance of experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. The institute also reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning a reason. 
13. Online Interviews can be arranged for overseas candidates only, subject to the submission of a request to attend the interview online. However, the decision shall be final and binding by the competent authority. 
14. No TA/DA and accommodation shall be provided for attending the written test/interview. 
15. The maximum age limit and eligibility conditions shall be reckoned for all the posts (Teaching and Non-Teaching) as on the last date for submission of online applications i.e. on 18th March 2026 (Wednesday) and the experience for Teaching post will be considered from the date of completion of Master Degree to the last date of online application by excluding the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. (copies of documents for date of registration i.e. and date of completion of Ph.D. must be enclosed. If the candidate is unable to submit proof of the date of registration, post-PhD experience will be considered only. 
16. Appointments under Direct Recruitment are regular in nature with a probation period of 1 (One) year for the posts T-01 to T-04 & 2 (Two) years for the post NT-02 and the same shall be confirmed depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent.

The fee once paid will not be refunded or re-adjusted under any circumstances. No fee is required for applicants who belong to the SC/ST, Persons with Disabilities, and Women Categories. During submission of the online Application, a PDF of the completed form will be generated. Application fees are not required for Deputation applications. 
18. For the posts T-01 to T-04 & NT-02, the mode of recruitment is Direct Recruitment only. For the post NT-01, the mode of recruitment is Deputation. 
19. Mode of Selection: The selection process for teaching posts (T-01 to T-04) consists of a Seminar Presentation & Interview. The shortlisted candidates will be invited to give a seminar presentation followed by an interview before a duly constituted Committee. For Non-Teaching post NT-01, the selection process is based on performance in the Interview before a duly constituted committee. For NT-02, the selection will be based on the Written Test followed by an Interview. Candidates are advised to visit the Website https://www.niperhajipur.ac.in regularly. No separate call letter will be sent. Email communication will only be sent. 
20. A Candidate’s admission to the Written Test/Interview and subsequent process is strictly provisional. The mere fact that the call letter(s) have been issued to the candidate does not imply that his/her candidature has been finally declared by the NIPER Hajipur. The NIPER Hajipur would be free to reject any application, at any stage of the process, cancel the candidature of the candidate in case it is detected at any stage that a candidate does not fulfil the eligibility norms and/or that he/she has furnished any incorrect/false information/Certificate/documents or has suppressed any material fact(s). If any of these shortcomings is/are detected after the appointment at NIPER-Hajipur, their services are liable to be summarily terminated.

21. The institute reserves the right to :
(a) Withdraw the advertisement either partly or wholly at any time without assigning any reason to this effect.
(b) Fill or not to fill up some or all the posts advertised for any reason whatsoever.
(c) Increase/Decrease the number of posts without giving any reason.
(d) Any addition/deletion and changes in matters of terms and conditions given in this notification of recruitment.
(e) Hold Written Test, Skill/Trade Test, Presentation and/ or Interview for selection, whenever circumstances so warrant.
22. Applicants are advised to mention their correct and active email ID in the application, as all the correspondence, like issuance of the call letter or any other information, will be communicated through email only. 
23. Intimations will be sent only by Email as per the details mentioned in the Application form.

25. Guidelines relating to recruitment rules shall be followed as per the NIPER Act, 1998, as amended from time to time. 26. 27. No person shall be recruited unless he/she is in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect that is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of his/her official duties. Before candidates recruited directly are finally approved for appointment to the institute, he/she shall be required to produce a medical certificate of physical fitness from a source specified by the appointing authority. 
28. After joining the service of the Institute, the persons will have to abide by the Rules, Regulations, Ordinances, Statutes and Acts of the Institute applicable from time to time. He/ She may be assigned any duty within or outside the Institute, depending upon the exigency of the work. 
29. Candidates who have obtained degrees /diplomas /certificates for various courses from any Institution declared fake/derecognised by the UGC/ AICTE/PCI shall not be eligible for being considered for recruitment to the post advertised. 
30. In case any dispute arises on account of the interpretation of clauses in any version of this Advertisement other than English, the English version available on the NIPER Hajipur Website shall prevail. 
31. Any dispute arising out of this Advertisement, including the recruitment process, shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Hon’ble Courts situated at Patna only.
