The Centre has taken up research on scientific validation of Herbal and Traditional Medicine, through studies in phytochemistry, efficacy, safety, mode of action and clinical evaluation of herb, its ingredients and traditional formulations, as the thrust area. NITM (formerly known as RMRC) is also involved in studies on prevalence of various diseases at regional level, and lending active support to the State health authorities in investigation of outbreaks, laboratory confirmations, as well as providing infrastructural support and expertise in the relevant fields of interest. Furthermore, NITM (formerly known as RMRC) Belagavi is serving as a nodal Centre for execution of various Task Force projects and Schemes of the ICMR and DHR.
Eligible candidates are invited to apply for written test/ interviews for the following temporary posts on 25th September 2017 to be conducted at ICMR-NITM, Belagavi.
Under the project entitled “Optimising sustainable forest use whilst minimising impacts of emerging zoonotic diseases: co-developing an interdisciplinary tool for forest ecosystems in India” at ICMR - NITM, Belagavi.
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE: ONE POST
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Life sciences/ MD (Microbiology / Biochemistry) or equivalent or MSc. /M.Pharm/ M.Tech (Biotechnology), with 3 years of experience and at least one paper published in PubMed/SCI indexed journal.
Desirable Qualification: Hands on experience in Field epidemiology, Molecular Biology and Immunological Techniques such as antibodies and cytokine assays, real time PCR and handling pathogenic viruses and insect vectors, especially ticks/mites.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH Candidates will be as per Govt. of India norms.
Emoluments: Rs. 38,000/- plus HRA per month fixed.
Under the project entitled “Immunomodulation by parasitic Macrophage migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF) in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes” at ICMR - NITM, Belagavi.
SENIOR PROJECT RESEARCH FELLOW: ONE POST
Essential Qualifications: PG Degree in Life Science with NET qualification or graduate degree in professional course in any branch of life sciences with NET qualification or PG degree in such professional course. In addition, two years of research experience is essential.
Desirable Qualification: Hands on experience in molecular biology and immunological techniques such as gene cloning, protein expression and purification, enzymatic assays and animal experimentation in relation to parasitic disease.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH Candidates will be as per Govt. of India norms.
Emoluments: Rs. 28,000/- plus HRA per month fixed.

The candidates are also required to submit a soft copy of the filled in application to dirrmrcbgv@gmail.com by 21.09.2017 as prior information of attending test. Candidates must report to the Centre on 25.09.2017 by 8.30 AM with all original documents in support of age, qualification, experience and category along with a set of self-attested photocopies and two recent passport size photographs. Written test/Interview will be conducted for the above said posts from 9.30 A.M onwards.
