The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963. The Institute was originally under the Government of undivided Punjab.

Post : Senior Research Fellow

Application is invited on plain paper for the post of Senior Research Fellow in DST-funded project entitled “Development of an endoscopic catheter mounted impedance probe to assess real time mucosal permeability” under Prof. Usha Dutta, Dept. of Gastroenterology.

Essential Qualification: Masters (1st Class) in Genetics, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology with Two years JRF experience.

Desirable: Preference will be given to NET/GATE cleared experienced person.

Upper Age limit : 32years (Relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH/Women candidate as per rules).

Remuneration : As per DST Rules

The engagement in the projects is purely on temporary basis. However, appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year and will be extended on yearly basis depending upon satisfactory performance and co-terminus with the project. The appointment can be terminated by either side by giving one month’s notice OR stipend thereof. Total duration of appointment in project is 01year. Therefore, if an incumbent switches between the projects, the appointment will terminate on the day he/she completes 01year. Please note that it is not a PGIMER / DST, N. Delhi appointment and will not confer any right on the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit on any position.

Interested Candidates fulfilling the above conditions are required to appear for personal interview along with original Certificates on 10th May-2019 at 2.30pm in the office of Prof. Usha Dutta, Deptt. of Gastroenterology, Nehru Hospital, PGIMER, Chandigarh. No interview letters will be sent. No TA/DA will be paid.
