The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is committed to advanced research addressing the basic mechanisms involved in body's defence to identify modalities for manipulation of the immune system to provide protection against diseases and understand mechanisms that can be used to target disease processes for intervention.

Applications are invited on prescribed format for the following assignment in a purely time bound research project undertaken in the Department of Life Science of the Institute.

Post: Junior Research Fellow

Name of the project & Duration of the Project: “Understanding biofilm modulation and catabolic gene expression by quorum sensing autoinducers in marine bacteria for degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon”

Tenure of the Project : 03 years

Job Description : To carry out research work & experiments related to the project and to continue Ph.D. at NIT Rourkela on the topic of this project work.

Tenure of the Assignment : 03 years (based on the performance) OR completion of the project, whichever is earlier

 

Qualifications:
M.Sc. (OR equivalent) in Life Science/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Genetics or related subjects with 60% of marks or 6.50 CGPA in 10 point scale for GATE or NET of UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT/ICAR (Lectureship/JRF) candidates OR M.Tech. in Env. Engg, Chemical Engg. or Biotechnology. Relaxation in GATE may be given to the outstanding experienced candidates.

Emoluments:
Rs.25,000/- P.M.+10% HRA for 1st and 2nd year; Rs. 28,000/- P.M+10% HRA for 3rd year

Desirable Qualifications/ Experiences : Research experience or knowledge in biofilm, microbial bioremediation, and environmental microbiology will be preferred.
