JNTBGRI is dedicated to the conservation and sustainable utilization of the Tropical plant genetic resources particularly of Western Ghats of India. Currently the Institute conserves largest number of tropical plant species among the botanic gardens in Asia. Recognising the importance of conserving plant genetic diversity and promoting R & D in plant science the Government of Kerala has established the institute in 1979 and the Government of India has been given the status of the Institute as Centre of Excellence since 1994.

- Monthly fellowship for Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) is Rs. 11,000/- + 10% HRA (consolidated).
- Monthly fellowship for Field Assistants/Data Entry Operator/Technical Assistant/Project Assistant/Computer Assistant is Rs. 8,000/- (consolidated).
- Age limit for all project positions will be 28 years as on August 1, 2014.
- Age relaxation will be given to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per government norms.
- Walk-in-interview(s) for JRF positions in P 106, P 107, P 111, P112, P113, P 114, P 132, P 138, P 141, P 146, P 147, P 149 and P 153 are scheduled on 11 August, 2014 (10 a.m.) at JNTBGRI, Palode, Thiruvananthapuram.
- Walk-in-interview(s) for Field Assistants/Data Entry Operator/Technical Assistant/Project Assistant/Computer Assistant positions in P 107, P 108, P 110, P 112, P 128, P 141 and P 149 are scheduled on 12 August, 2014 (10 a.m.) at JNTBGRI, Palode, Thiruvananthapuram.
- Candidates should bring certificates, degrees, proof of age etc. for verification at the time of interview. One set of (copies of) these documents is to be submitted to our office during verification.
- A written test may be conducted prior to the interview depending upon the number of candidates appearing for a specific project position.
- No TA/DA will be given to candidates for attending the walk-in-interview.
- How to reach: JNTBGRI is located near Palode (PIN 695 562), 40 km away from Thiruvananthapuram city in the Thiruvananthapuram-Thenkasi route. JNTBGRI is also reachable from Nilamel and Kilimanoor in the Thiruvananthapuram-Kottarakkara route (MC Road).
