Tezpur University was established by an Act of Parliament in  1994. The objects of this Central University as envisaged in the statutes are that it shall strive to offer employment oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet the regional to national aspirations and the development of the state of Assam and also offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in the emerging areas in Science and Technology.

The Materiovigilance Programme of India (MvPI) is functioning on sound scientific/evidence-based information like quality and safety of medical devices, which are an integral part for better patient’s safety outcomes. IPC is committed to ensure effective implementation of MvPI to address public health concerns related to Medical Devices. In order to carry out the obligation under NCC MvPI, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission intense to encourage personnel, on contract basis on consolidated remuneration having qualification (including exp).

Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) is a premier scientific research organization in the north-east region, conceived and nurtured by the Assam Science Society in its initial years and was inaugurated by Nobel Laureate Dorothy C. Hodgkin on 3rd November 1979. Subsequently, it was supported by the state govt. as its only autonomous R&D institute till March 2009. The institute was taken over in March, 2009 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India as one of its autonomous R&D institute.
