The Council's Regional Medical Research Centre for Tribals set up, in 1984, at Jabalpur, addresses itself mainly to the study of the health and nutritional problems of the tribal populations, including nutritional disorders, common communicable diseases, environmental health problems, etc. This Centre provides assistance in planning, monitoring and evaluation of tribal health and other developmental programmes in tribal areas of India (including Madhya Pradesh) and also in training health functionaries. This Centre is also attempting simultaneously to estimate the magnitude of health problems posed by other common diseases such as tuberculosis, leprosy, diarrhoea, malaria, filariasis, venereal diseases, poliomyelitis, measles, etc. Further, the Centre also studies the blood groups, abnormal haemoglobins and other genetic health problems as also socio-economic, demographic and cultural profile of the tribal population.

Qualification:
M. Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology/biological sciences with two years research experience

Desirable Qualification:
Experience in diagnostic Laboratory in conducting ELISA, PCR, RT PCR etc. and knowledge of computers and biosafety

Age: Below 35 years (relaxable to SC / ST/ OBC candidates as per rules)

Salary: Rs.18000/- plus 20% HRA

Job Requirement: To help in establishing virus diagnostic tests for human pathogenic viruses. To look in to Laboratory requirements etc.

Date, Time and Place of Interview: 16th January 2012 at 10.00 a.m. RMRCT, Jabalpur

The posts are purely temporary and co-terminable with the project or till the duration of the project. The selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointment under ICMR. No TA/DA will be paid for attending interview. Age may be relaxed in deserving cases. The selected candidates will work in the laboratories as well as in field areas and will have to do extensive traveling. Interested candidates should appear for walk-in-interview along-with their applications on plain paper, bio-data, a passport size photograph and attested copies of certificates and testimonials on the dates as specified above in the office of the Director, RMRCT (ICMR), Garha PO, Nagpur Road, Jabalpur (M.P.) - 482003.
Note : Candidates are required to report at the place of walk-in-interview on or before 10.00 a.m. positively. Late entry will not be considered.
