Walk in Interview for Research Associate at CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology

Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal. The dream of HP government finally came true in 1983 when the foundation stone of this National lab was laid as CSIR Complex Palampur by Prof. Nurul Hasan, former Vice President of CSIR, with then Chief Minister of HP chairing the function.

Educational Qualification
Essential/Desirable :
1. Ph. D. (awarded! sUbmitted*) in Computational Biology ! Bioinformatics ! Biological Sciences preferably with work experience in next generation sequencing data analysis.
2. Ph. D. (awarded! sUbmitted*) in Botany! Microbiology !Biotechnology! Plant Pathology/ Plant Molecular Biology / Biochemistry.

In case of selection the offer of engagement letter will be issued after production of documentary evidence regarding completion of his/her Ph.D. Degree or viva-voce done and declared qualified for award of Ph.D. Degree in relevant areas.

The candidates appearing in walk-in-interview for the positions of Research Associate with the qualifications of Ph.D. thesis submitted, he/she may produce authentic proof of his/her thesis submission from the respective Competent Authorities of University/Institute, failing which they shall not be allowed to appear in walk-in-interview.

Age Relaxation:
5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for aBC and widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not remarried are allowed age concession up to the age of 35 years, (up to 40 years for members of SC/STs). No other women are entitled for such relaxation.

The number of positions as advertised may vary depending upon the suitability of candidates and assess needs of the candidates in the relevant projects.

Eligible candidates may appear for "Walk-in-Interview(s)" on the dates, time and place mentioned above along with an application on prescribed format which is available on the CSIR-IHBT, website "www.ihbt.res.in" along with attested photocopies of testimonials of their age, educational qualifications, experience, reserved category, etc. at the time of interview. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the duration of the projects. There will be no right implicit or explicit for regular position or any post in CSIR-IHBT, whatsoever. Candidates must also bring with them original certificates of testimonials at the time of appearing for the interview failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear for interview. No TA will be paid for attending the interview. The
