Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal. The dream of HP government finally came true in 1983 when the foundation stone of this National lab was laid as CSIR Complex Palampur by Prof. Nurul Hasan, former Vice President of CSIR, with then Chief Minister of HP chairing the function.
Walk-in-Interview is scheduled to be held on the date(s) as mentioned below against the position(s) in the respective column for the selection of suitable candidate(s) in the following areas under the following project(s) on purely temporary basis for the duration of the project(s) or till completion of the project(s) whichever is earlier :-

Educational Qualification(s) Essential/Desirable : Essential qualifications: M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Plant Science with 55% marks and two years research experience in Molecular Markers.

Stipend (Per Month) [Consolidated] : Rs.14,000/- p.m.
Educational Qualification(s) Essential/Desirable : 1. MBA with 55% marks after 1st Class B.Sc. in (Science).
CSIR Project (s) : (i) “Development of Microbial formulations to serve as stress buster and bio-fertilizers for improving crop productivity in stressed agriculture" (OLP-0042) [Up to 31.03.2019].

Maximum Age (As on date of interview) : 30 years as on 14.12.2017
Stipend (Per Month) [Consolidated] : Rs.25,000/- p.m.
Educational Qualification(s) Essential/Desirable : M.Sc. in Botany/ Biotechnology / Microbiology / Plant Molecular Biology / Genetics / Plant Pathology / Plant Physiology / Plant Science/ Life Sciences with 55% marks.

Age Relaxation:
5 years for SC/ST/Woman, 3 years for OBC and widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands ana who are not remarried are allowed age concession up to the age of 35 years, (up to 40 years for members of SC/STs).
The number of positions as advertised may vary depending upon the suitability of candidates and assess needs of the candidates in the relevant projects.
Eligible candidates may appear for "Walk-in-lnterview(s)” on the dates, time and place mentioned above along with an application on prescribed format which is available on the CSIR-IHBT, website ihbt.res.in’’ along with attested photocopies of testimonials of their age, educational qualifications, experience, reserved category, etc. at the time of interview. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the duration of the projects. There will be no right implicit or explicit for regular position or any post in CSIR-IHBT, whatsoever. Candidates must also bring with them original certificates of testimonials at the time of appearing for the interview failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear for interview. No TA will be paid for attending the interview.
The Selection Committee(s) may adopt the selection criterion at its own i.e. either by conducting direct interview or written test followed by interview on the same day.
The decision of the Director, CSIR-IHBT, Palampur shall be final for engagement of Senior Research Fellow and Project Assistant Level-ll at CSIR-IHBT, Palampur (H.P.).
