National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an 'Institute of National Importance'. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. The Institute is conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia and Africa. Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for the following temporary positions under the project entitled “Development of an indigenous Diagnostic Assay for the detection of Staphylococcus aureus (SA) and Bacillus cereus (BC) enterotoxins causing food poisoning” (GP-491) sponsored by ICMR, under the supervision of Prof. Tarun Kumar Sharma (PI), Department of Medical Devices and Prof. Krishan Gopal (Co-PI), Department of Biotechnology, NIPER-SAS Nagar. These positions are purely on temporary basis initially for a period of 01 year. It may be extended further subject to the performance of the candidates and availability of funds and is co- terminus with the duration of the project.
Age Limit : 35 years
Remunerations : Rs. 56,000/- p.m. (consolidated) plus HRA, as admissible
Essential Qualification : First class Post Graduate (PG) degree (including the integrated PG degrees) such as M. Sc. (Biotechnology/Microbiology/ Medical Biotechnology)/ M. Tech. (Biotechnology) OR any allied area of science with experience of working on diagnostics assay development, biosensors, medical devices or Second Class Post Graduate Degree in any of the abovementioned discipline, with Ph. D.
Desirable Qualification : Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: diagnostic assay development, molecular biology, protein biochemistry, antibody engineering and aptamer technology.
• The engagement is full time and purely on temporary basis for all intent and purposes for an initial period of 01 year, which may be extended further subject to the performance of the candidate and availability of funds and is co-terminus with the duration of the project.

• Candidates are required to attach the valid proof of deposit of the prescribed application fee, wherever applicable, with the application form. The application form received without valid proof of deposit of the prescribed application fee will be summarily rejected and no representation/request shall be entertained in this regard.
• Candidates with incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures (i.e. self-attested copies of degree / certificates / marks sheets / experience certificate/ reprint of important publications, without photographs, signatures and prescribed fee) will not be interviewed.
• The candidature will be considered as invalid, ab-initio, in case he/she does not fulfil the eligibility criteria. Candidate should satisfy himself/herself regarding the possession of required qualification, age, experience, etc., as stipulated above, as on the last date of receipt of application, before appearing in on-line interview, if shortlisted.
