Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. THSTI is a part of the interdisciplinary Biotechnology Science Cluster at Faridabad, Haryana in the National Capital Region (NCR). The institution is designed to be a dynamic enterprise with a mission to conduct innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into tangible products to improve human health.

Post : Dean

looking for leaders to fill up two positions of Dean.
i)  The Dean of THSTI will report to the Executive Director.
ii)  The Dean will be the administrative head/mentor of one or two of the niche centres as mentioned above and may be delegated additional supervisory responsibilities of administration/ academics/ students affair/ campus matters/ international relationships/ etc.

Eligibility Criteria:
I) For Direct Recruitment:
Essential Qualification: PhD in Life Sciences or MD or MVSc. or M. Tech in Biotechnology/ Biomedical Engineering / Biotech Pharmacology or relevant area from a recognised University with minimum 15 years relevant experience in responsible higher position in research/ teaching Institute/ University/ Industry with published research of highest standards and/ or technologies of established utility.
ii) Desirable: At least two years’ experience as a head of a department in a reputed academic or research institute or industry in related fields. Demonstrated ability to create new knowledge in the area of expertise or translate innovations to develop new processes or products and ability to network with national and global institutes and industries.

II)    For Deputation:
Officials of the Central Govt., State Govt., Universities, Public Sector Undertakings and Govt, funded research organisations/ institutes subject to fulfilment of the following conditions:
i. At least one year regular service in the HAG scale or four years regular service in PB- 4 with GP of Rs.10000/- in the relevant field.
Possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment.
iii. The other terms and conditions of deputation shall be governed by DoPT OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17th June 2010 as amended/ revised from time to time.

Age limit and tenure of appointment:
i.  Age limit for direct recruitment: 55 years as on 22nd December 2016
In exceptional cases, relaxation of age can be allowed at the discretion of the competent authority.
ii. Age limit for deputation : 56 years as on 2nd December 2016
iii. The appointment will be on contract/deputation basis for a period of five years or till the age of 60, whichever is earlier. The tenure is extendable after review, as per the rules of the organisation.
iv.There will be an initial probation period of one year which may be extended at the discretion of the Competent Authority.

Compensation:
The incumbent will be placed in the HAG + scale of Rs.75500 - 80000 with 3% annual increment. At the present rate, a Dean shall be entitled for about Rs.2,50,000/- as per the CCS (Revised Pay) rules, 2016.

In addition to the usual pay & allowances as admissible, the selected incumbent will be entitled to other benefits such as a semi - furnished on-campus housing, medical reimbursement, telephone expenses, newspaper and magazine allowance, children education allowance, Leave Travel Concession, New Pension Scheme contribution etc. as per the Government of India rules and a chauffeur driven government car.

>    The incumbent will be permitted to take consultancy assignments as per Institute norms including practise by clinicians.
