The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is committed to advanced research addressing the basic mechanisms involved in body's defence to identify modalities for manipulation of the immune system to provide protection against diseases and understand mechanisms that can be used to target disease processes for intervention.

Applications are invited for the position (s) of Research Associate & Senior Research Fellow (Project) for the following time-bound sponsored project as per the details given below:

Name of the project & Duration of the Project : “Cytokines and growth factors mediated migration and invasion of trophoblastic cells under normal & hypoxic conditions: Deciphering the relevance of cell signaling and miRNA’s” funded by DBT Tenable till – 15.01.2020

Educational Qualifications:
Research Associate: Ph.D in Life Sciences
Senior Research Fellow (Project): M.Sc in Life Sciences with two years of research experience after M.Sc or M.V.Sc/M.Tech/M.B.B.S. The candidates should also have qualified any ‘National Level Examination’ (NET), as per DST guidelines.

 

Emoluments: The selected candidates may be placed in any of the below categories depending upon qualification & experience.
Research Associate: Rs. 36,000/- per month plus 30% HRA
Senior Research Fellow (Project): Rs. 28,000/- per month plus 30% HRA
(As per DST OM dated 21.10.2014)

Job description & Desired Knowledge:
Research Associate: The candidate should have good experience in cell culture, transfection techniques with siRNA, qPCR, Western blot, ELISA, matrigel invasion assay, miRNA and their target validation. The incumbent should have sound theoretical knowledge of cell biology with special reference to cell invasion, signalling pathways and miRNA analysis and validation.
Senior Research Fellow (Project): The candidate should have good experience in cell culture, transfection techniques with siRNA/qPCR, Western blot, ELISA, matrigel invasion assay. The incumbent should have sound theoretical knowledge of cell biology with special reference to cell invasion, signalling pathways.

1. The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for one year or duration of the project whichever is shorter, at a time.
2. No hostel/ housing facility will be provided.
3. Applicants may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, if called for.
