CSIR- National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, a premier plant science research institute under Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), is involved in multidisciplinary R&D programmes of both basic and applied nature across scientific disciplines for economic, environmental and societal benefits for the people of India. CSIR-NBRI undertakes basic and applied research in strategically important areas of plant sciences including plant systematics and biodiversity, conservation biology, environmental biology, floriculture, plant-microbe interactions, plant biotechnology, genetic engineering and bioinformatics.
Eligible & interested candidates are invited for interview for the purely temporary positions in the following areas under the sponsored projects tenable at CSIR-NBRI:-
Post: Project Assistant
Area III: Biodiversity & Bioprospection
1. Project Assistant Level III
Essential Qualifications: 1st class M.Pharma or 1st class B.Pharma with at least 2 years post B.Pharma research experience or 1st class M.Sc. in Botany/Bioinformatics /Information Technology/ Biotechnology or 1st class B.Tech in Computer Science/Bioinformatics or 1st class MCA and should have completed at least 2 years post M.Sc./B.Tech/MCA experience in database (Preferable plant database).
Age: 32 years
2. Project Assistant Level II
Essential Qualifications: 1st class M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Chemistry/Biochemistry/Pharmacology or 1st class B.Pharma.
Age: 28 years
Area IV: Microbiology
1. Project Assistant Level III
Essential Qualifications: 1st class M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Nano Technology and should have completed at least 2 years post M.Sc. research experience or 1st Class M.Tech in Biotechnology/Nano Technology
Age: 32 years
2. Project Assistant Level II
Essential Qualifications: 1st class M.Sc. in Biotechnology
Age: 28 years
Area V: Molecular Biology & Biotechnology
Project Assistant Level II
Essential Qualifications: 1st class M.Sc. in Plant Breeding/ Genetics/Botany Plant Science/ Biochemistry/ Life Science/ Biological Science.
Age: 28 years
STIPEND
For Project Assistant Level III: Rs.14,000/-p.m
For JRF(P): Rs.12000/- +HRA
For Project Assistant Level II: Rs.12000/-p.m. /Rs.8000/-p.m./ Rs.12000+HRA

Date & Venue of Interview
For Area III: on 22-12-2014 and For Area IV&V: 23-12-2014 at 11.00 A.M. at Conference Room, T.N. Khushoo Block, NBRI, Lucknow
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
a) HRA will be admissible as per sanction of the projects.
b) The Application form will be provided at the venue on the date. However, candidates may download the application form in advance from the website www.nbri.res.in. At the time of interview candidates should bring one latest photograph, attested copy of certificates of examinations passed.
c) (starting from matriculation), certificate indicating date of birth, caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC) and experience certificate, etc. Tentative mark sheets/certificates and 'result awaited' will not be considered. All eligible candidates are requested to be present at the venue on the said date one hour before the scheduled time for necessary formalities.
d) Mode of Selection: Through Interview. However, if large number of candidates turn up, a Screening test comprising of multiple choice objective questions will be held for short listing the candidates for interview. The short listed candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee and, based on the performance in the interview, a panel of recommended candidates will be formed. The panel shall be utilized as and when the requirement arises in the projects in the relevant field/area. Candidates have the option to interact in Hindi/English before the committee. In case of turning up of large no. of candidates, interview may continue for next day.
e) The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co- terminus with the sponsored projects. Further the above stipend(s) is tentative and the same will be finally decided based on the availability of funds in the relevant sponsored projects.
f) To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects should turn up for floating interview
