BMC is a local government committed to provide basic infrastructure facilities to the people of the city. BMC is very well known for the managing the city by using private sector participation as well as introduction of innovative mechanism in management to serve people efficiently. City has prepared different plans for improving services and to nullify gap between services and demands.

SRISTI is a developmental voluntary organization aiming to  strengthen the creativity of/at/for grassroots communities ,including individual innovators. It supports eco-friendly solutions to local problems being scouted, spawned and spread by the Honey Bee Network for over 26 years. It also nurtures ecopreneurs engaged in conserving biodiversity, common property resources, cultural diversity and educational innovators.

As far back as the year 183d, it was realised that municipal work was necessary within the city walls, and it was ordered that the four principal roads should be regularly watered by a newly created municipal agency. The cost was to be met by the levy of a cess from the keepers of the shops. This cess was collected but for a short times, though the work of watering the roads continued and the expenses were borne by the their Baroda state Govt., the responsibility of repairing the existing roads and making new ones was recognised and to defray the cost it was decided to levy dues on certain articles imported and exported.

CSMCRI with much scientific excitement has now achieved technological excellence with several granted patents in the core mandate of the institute and is one among the top performing national R&D laboratories in the country. Government of Gujarat has recognized the importance of the science of biotechnology and its potentiality. With the vision to develop biotechnology sector and to provide global level opportunities, research and development in the state, the government in the year 2004, established Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission (GSBTM) as a state nodal agency dedicated to biotechnology.

The U. N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre (UNMICRC) is a grant–in–aid autonomous institute promoted by the Government of Gujarat as a public trust . The institute is affiliated to the B.J. Medical College, Civil Hospital Campus, Asarwa, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, which is a Government Medical College.
