The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER), SAS Nagar is an autonomous institute of National importance set up by the Government of India, under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers by an Act of Parliament, to impart higher education and undertake advanced re*-search in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, technology and management. The Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India has launched the Scheme for "Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma MedTech sector (PRIP)" with the goal of transforming India into a global powerhouse for R&D in the Pharma MedTech sector. Under this scheme, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Mohali is establishing Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Anti-viral and Anti-bacterial drug discovery and development in its campus at NIPER Mohali.
The Institute is looking for dynamic, result oriented and experienced professionals for the following temporary positions under Centre of Excellence (CoE) initially for a period of one (01) year which may be extended on case-to-case basis depending upon the job/specific requirement and performance of the individuals:
Sr. Research Fellow (CoE-SRF)

Essential Qualification : MS (Pharm.)/ M. Pharm./ M. Tech.(Pharm.)/ M.Sc. Chemistry Specialized in Organic Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Process Chemistry or equivalent with two years of relevant experience.
Desirable Qualification : 2-year experience in organic synthesis in academic or industrial research laboratory.
Job Responsibilities : To carryout organic synthesis of antibacterial/antiviral compounds.
Technical Assistant (CoE-TA)

Essential Qualification : M. Pharm. or M.S. (Pharm.) or M. Sc. with 1 year research experience or M. Tech. Strong Python programming skills with hands-on experience of using scientific Python libraries. Molecular Dynamics (MD) Simulations and Analysis with GROMACS/AMBER/NAMD package. Experience in Virtual Screening and Molecular Docking. Experience in Protein-Ligand MD simulations and Free- Energy simulations. Experience in AI model development for molecule- design, activity or ADME properties predictions etc.
Desirable Qualification : Cheminformatics- experience in rdkit. Extensive knowledge of GROMACS MD package. Experience with Free Energy methods such as MM/PBSA and FEP. Experience with small-molecule force-field parameterization. Experience with Quantum Chemistry software such as Gaussian or GAMESS.
Job Responsibilities : The candidate is expected to perform Computational-Aided- Drug-design for anti- bacterial and anti-viral agents by Employing AI, virtual screening, molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulations and free energy calculations. The candidate is expected to develop in-house integrated platform for the Computational- Aided-Drug-design.

Desirable Qualification : Hands-on in operation of chromatographic techniques like HPLC/HPTLC/GCMS /LC-MS/MS with good knowledge in method development and validation with minimum 1 years of work experience in any Industry/ Drug Regulatory lab/ Research & Development Organization or in isolation of small molecules/ peptides from natural products (plants / microorganisms), their purification and characterization using chromatographic techniques like Mass and NMR studies
Job Responsibilities : Candidate will be responsible for isolation of small molecules/ peptides from plants / microorganisms.
General Information
1. The positions are purely on temporary basis initially for a period of one (01) year which may be extended for other term(s) on case-to-case basis depending upon the job/specific requirement and performance of the individuals.
2. Only eligible Indian nationals having proven track record, command, expertise and deep knowledge in the respective area may apply.
3. Application form is available on the Institute’s website <niper.gov.in/jobs>. The candidate(s) who fulfill the eligibility criteria, may submit the hard copy of application(s) in the prescribed application form along with attested copies of testimonials / degrees/ certificates, wherever applicable etc., in support of the averments made in the qualification, experience and other columns in the application form along with latest passport size photograph with proof of payment of prescribed fee, wherever applicable.
4. Incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures (i.e. self-attested copies of degree /certificates/marks sheets/experience certificates, without photographs, signatures and prescribed fee, wherever applicable) will be out-rightly rejected.

6. Candidates applying for more than one position need to fill separate application forms supported by all relevant documents in support of essential qualification, experience claimed with requisite application and fee as specified at Point No. 3 above. Application form without supporting documents and prescribed fee shall be summarily rejected and no further correspondence in this regard shall be entertained in any circumstances.
7. Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PwBD etc. will be as per the Government of India rules. The candidates are required to attach valid proof for claiming relaxation as per the guidelines prescribed by the Government of India from time to time.
8. The Competent Authority may relax the experience and age in case of exceptionally meritorious candidates.
9. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. The result of shortlisted candidates shall be uploaded on Institute’s website and also conveyed through e-mail provided in the application form to the shortlisted candidates for attending the interview. No written or speed post communications shall be sent separately, and no claims of any kind shall be entertained in this regard. However, the candidates are advised to check NIPER website and their e-mails regularly.
10. Interviews will be conducted tentatively in the last week of January, 2026. Date of interview will be notified on Institute’s website, once finalized.
11. No correspondence or query will be entertained from the candidates regarding the eligibility, status of applications, postal delays, result of interview/selection process and reasons for not being called for interview or selection etc.
12. The process of selection may include presentation / seminar / interview or any other process as decided by the competent authority.
13. No TA/DA shall be paid either for attending the interview or for joining the assignment.
14. The institute reserves the right to revise/reschedule/cancel/suspend the recruitment process without assigning any reason. The decision of the Institute shall be final, and no appeal shall be entertained.
15. 16. However, the application will only be considered on receipt of hard copy of application.
17. Candidates are also required to provide the requisite details in Google form made available on Institute’s website in due course of time.
18. The last date for receipt of application forms is 16.01.2026 (Friday).
19. The Institute will NOT be responsible for non-receipt of application(s) within the stipulated date due to any postal delay/loss of application/document sent in transit. Late receipt of applications may not be considered and applications received after due date i.e. 16.01.2026 (Friday) shall not be entertained at any circumstances.
