However, the University could come into existence only after the achievement of independence.In 1949, the University was incorporated under the Gujarat University Act of the State Government 'as a teaching and affiliating University.' This was done as a measure of decentralisation and reorganization of University education in the then Province of Bombay.

(2) Five years' experience as a Pharmacists/Quality Control in a University, Government / Semi-Government / Research Organization / comparable private organizations /Public Undertaking. Good knowledge of computer applications, office management and secretarial practice.

General Instructions and Conditions
1. Before applying online, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfills all the educational qualifications, experience/age requirements of the post.
2 Only candidates with Indian citizenship can apply. Candidates should have sufficient knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi and English.
3. Working candidates should upload No Objection Certificate.
4. The candidate should fill the details in the online application form only after considering all the details of educational qualifications mentioned in the advertisement for the relevant post.
5. The candidate should fulfill the prescribed educational qualifications, age limit/non-creamy layer certificate/divyang certificate and other necessary qualifications mentioned in the advertisement as on the last date of online application.
6. The candidate shall produce original and self-attested copies of the mark sheet and necessary certificates from the Government recognized Board/University/Institution when requested by the competent authority.
7. The selected candidate shall have to pass the CCC/CCC+ examination from the Government approved examination centers during the probationary period as per the rules fixed by the Government of Gujarat regarding the CCC/CCC+ (Course on Computer Concepts) examination from time to time.
8. After getting regular appointment to the candidate appointed through direct recruitment, the new enhanced pension scheme introduced by the State Government with effect from 01/04/2005 as per the provisions of the Finance Department's Resolution No.: NPAN/2003/GOI/10/(P.F.A.) dated 18/03/2005 will be applicable.
9. Until the entire recruitment process is completed, any information regarding the recruitment process will be available in the RTI application. No application under the Act will be entertained.
10 The rules issued by the State Government/University from time to time will be applicable to the applicants.
11. The selected candidate will have to perform any additional responsibility assigned by the University in any department.
12. If there is any difference in the name, surname of the candidate, the necessary documentary evidence (Marriage Registration Certificate/Government Gazette) will have to be uploaded.
13. A candidate will not be entitled to claim appointment to the post merely by being included in the merit list. If the appointing authority is satisfied that he is not suitable for public service as per the rules laid down in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, then such candidate may be cancelled and dropped at any stage. The decision of the University in the matter of appointment will be final.
14. Candidates will have to appear at their own expense when the University organizes the written/online examination/personal interview.
15 All the above posts will be filled as per the prevailing and time to time instructions and rules of the State Government/University.
16 All instructions regarding the written/online competitive examination or interview as well as subsequent instructions will be given on the University website. All the notices related to the advertisement will be published on the university website gujaratuniversity.ac.in from time to time. Therefore, the candidates who have applied are advised to keep checking the university website regularly.
17. In case it is found necessary to change or cancel the advertisement or recruitment process for any reason, the university shall have full right/authority in this regard.
18. If the university has not indicated the percentage in the mark sheet, the candidate will have to upload the formula for calculating the percentage along with the application.
19. The jurisdiction for judicial proceedings shall be limited to Ahmedabad.
20 The examination structure of the posts mentioned in the advertisement will be published on the university website later
21. The candidate should keep more than one copy of the passport size photograph of the photo uploaded in the application form and the copy of the same photograph should be used throughout the recruitment process of this advertisement cadre (such as affixing it in the attendance sheet at the time of examination and also submitting a copy of the same photograph at the time of verification of original certificates). The candidate should have such a photograph taken recently, so that there is no difficulty in establishing identity at various stages of recruitment/appointment.
(A) Educational Qualification :
1. The candidate should have obtained the prescribed educational qualification from any University established under an Act of the Parliament of India or a State Legislature or an educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or an educational institution established as a University under Section-3 of the U.G.C. Act, 1956.
2. The candidate's claim to have the educational qualification recognized on a provisional basis will not be accepted.
3. The candidate will have to upload a copy of the mark sheet along with the mark sheet.
4. Candidates who have been awarded degrees from foreign universities will have to upload the "Equivalence Certificate" issued by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
5. The appointment of the selected candidates will be made under the provisions of the Gujarat Public Universities Act, 2023, in writing.
6. The selected candidates shall be subject to the rules/statutes/ordinances/regulations of the University and the State Government from time to time and any rules/resolutions specifically prescribed by the University may be amended to maintain the conduct of the employees.
(B) Experience :
1. The experience sought will be considered as on the last date of receipt of online application.
(C) Selection Process :
1. The selection process for the posts of ADMIN-01 to ADMIN-23 & PH-ADMIN-24 to PH-ADMIN-36 and the structure thereof will be published on the University website hereafter.
2. In order to be selected for the said post, the candidate will have to go through the prescribed process.
3. The selection process, probationary period, age relaxation and eligibility criteria will be subject to the rules of the Gujarat Public Universities Act, 2023, the Government of Gujarat and the Gujarat University from time to time.
4. Candidates having experience from Self Finance Institution/College will have to submit University approval (if applicable), Salary Sweep, Salary Bank Account Statement and Income Tax Return for the period of experience shown as proof of their experience.
(D) The candidature of any candidate found guilty of any of the following or any other offence by the University shall be cancelled.
1. To seek any support for his candidature in any way i.e. to directly or indirectly influence any officer/employee of the University
2. To submit forged or tampered documents or to commit any irregularity
3. The applications of those candidates who conceal any false or material information shall be cancelled.
4. To resort to any other irregular or improper means in connection with his candidature for the examination.
5. To use any of the following malpractices during the examination, i.e. to copy from another candidate's answer sheet, to copy with the help of a book, guide, slip or any other printed or handwritten material or to copy through conversation or to make a candidate copy.
6. Writing irrelevant matter including obscene language or obscene matter in the papers
7. Attempting to put any mark, writing, alphabet, mark by which identification is established in the OMR answer sheet
8. Any other misconduct in the examination hall
9 Directly or indirectly harassing or causing physical harm to the staff of the University engaged in the conduct of the examination
10. Attempting to do or aiding and abetting all or any of the acts specified in the preceding paragraphs, or violating any of the instructions given in his/her admittance letter permitting him/her to appear for the examination, shall be liable to criminal prosecution if he/she is found guilty or declared guilty (3) The University may disqualify him/her from the examination for which he/she is a candidate. or (b) (1) may be permanently or for a specified period exempted from appearing in any examination for direct selection to the University or from any personal interview.
11. Government of Gujarat Public Service Commission or any other Public Service Commission or any other Government for any purpose.
