Post : Medical Science Liaison – Plasma Derived Therapies (PDT)

Position Purpose
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Plasma Derived Therapies (PDT) will serve as a field-based scientific and clinical expert for Takeda India, focusing on the Plasma Derived Therapy portfolio, with particular emphasis on Albumin and Haemophilia. The role is designed to facilitate scientific exchange with external stakeholders and ensure accurate and balanced communication of relevant medical and scientific information.  This role will be instrumental in supporting Takeda’s medical strategy, building strong partnerships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and key opinion leaders (KOLs), and contributing to the advancement of patient care in the areas of Plasma Derived Therapies.

Job Description
Scientific Leadership & Expertise
• Serve as the regional scientific expert in Plasma Derived Therapies, maintaining in-depth knowledge of disease areas, products, emerging data, and treatment landscapes.
• Disseminate accurate, fair-balanced, and up-to-date medical information to external stakeholders, including HCPs and KOLs.
• Maintain awareness of ongoing clinical trials, emerging scientific literature, and competitor activities relevant to the therapy area.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with KOLs, investigators, academic institutions, and other relevant external stakeholders.
• Engage in scientific discussions and exchange insights to inform Takeda’s medical and commercial strategies.
• Represent Takeda at scientific congresses, symposia, advisory boards, and other medical education events in the assigned geography.


Medical Education & Internal Collaboration
• Provide medical and scientific training to internal stakeholders, including the sales and marketing teams, ensuring accuracy and alignment with scientific evidence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of strategic initiatives in line with medical and commercial objectives.
• Contribute actionable field insights to guide strategy development for the Plasma Derived Therapies portfolio.
Clinical Research Support
• Support clinical research activities, including site identification, investigator engagement, and facilitation of investigator-initiated studies (IIS).
• Provide scientific guidance during clinical trial activities to ensure alignment with study protocols and objectives.
Compliance & Documentation
• Conduct all activities in strict compliance with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and Takeda’s internal policies.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of field activities, stakeholder interactions, and medical insights into relevant systems.

Candidate Profile
• MBBS or MD (preferred). Candidates holding a PhD, PharmD, or MSc in Life Sciences with relevant medical affairs or MSL experience will also be considered.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison or relevant medical affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry.

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based role and effectively collaborate within cross-functional teams.

Work style & Travel Requirements
• Field-based position with approximately 80% of time spent in the field, engaging with HCPs, KOLs, and other external stakeholders across South and East India.
• Approximately 20% of time dedicated to internal collaboration, strategic planning, and supporting cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned geography.
