Johnson & Johnson Moves to End Decade-Long Talc Litigation with Proposed 5.5 Billion USD Ovarian Cancer Settlement

Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has announced a proposed 5.5 billion USD settlement aimed at resolving nearly all remaining U.S. lawsuits alleging that its talc-based products caused ovarian cancer, marking one of the largest mass-tort settlement efforts in the company's history. The proposed agreement covers approximately 76,000 pending claims and will take effect only if at least 95% of eligible claimants agree to participate.

BMJ Study: GLP-1 Drugs Such as Ozempic and Mounjaro Linked to Higher Risk of Hair Loss in Adults with Type 2 Diabetes

A new study published in The BMJ has found that adults with type 2 diabetes who use glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs), including medications such as semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound), may face a higher risk of developing non-scarring hair loss (alopecia) compared with patients taking other commonly prescribed diabetes medicines.
