Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) is a not-for-profit research institute that aims to conduct innovative research in unifying areas of chemistry, biology and chemical biology. We currently have a career opportunity for a Project Leader in Molecular Modeling of Computer-Aided Drug Design, starting Q2-2011.

Post: Research Scientist & Research Trainee

Zebrafish (Danio rerio) has emerged as an effective in vivo model organism for the study of human biology and disease including cardiovascular, hematologic, reproductive, infectious, gastrointestinal, oncogenic and neurologic conditions. Our objective is to create a state-of- art facility that can optimize the use of this model in all the areas of research and cater with good quality, well characterized zebrafish and its models to researchers across academia and industry. We will engage in developing and validating zebrafish based technologies for various areas of drug discovery including molecular biology, microbiology, pharmacology, toxicology and safety pharmacology along with various research groups within the Institute of Life Sciences as well as other groups in academics and industry.

Job Description: - Standardizing and validating zebra fish safety pharmacology and toxicology methods; record keeping; maintenance of zebra fish holding and breeding facility.
