The Indian Registry of Pathology (IRP) was established in 1965 under the auspices of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in New Delhi, India as a Centre for collection and distribution of teaching material in pathology. The Registry was renamed in 1980 as the National Institute of Pathology (IOP) in view of its expanded scope and activities. As per the need of the post-independence era when a large number of new medical colleges were coming up, IRP took up the initiative with the original aims and objectives of collection, classification, duplication and distribution of a representative spectrum of histopathological teaching material to several medical colleges, institutions, individual pathologists and clinicians.

Applications are invited for One Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in DST funded project titled "Role of Long Non-coding RNA MEG3 in Breast Carcinogeneis".

Eligibility: First Class M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Biochemistry/ Life Sciences with good academic records and should have been qualified National I Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CSIR-UGC/valid GATE score. Those having JRF are encouraged to apply.

Desirable Qualification: Experience in handling cell lines and basic molecular biology techniques such as PCR, RT-PCR, gene cloning. Stipend: Rs. 25,000/-as per DST guidelines.

 

Job Requirements: The candidate is expected to work on human cell lines and explore the mechanisms through which the MEG3 is contributing to the breast carcinogenesis.

Age Limit: The candidates should be below 28 years of age as on 27th September, 2017. Age relaxation in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Govt of India rules.

Please note that the Institute no provision for hostel accommodation. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview. There is no provision for hostel accommodation.
