Walk in for Post Doctoral Fellow, Senior Research Fellow in NCCS

The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) took birth as National Tissue Culture Facility in March 11, 1986 with a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of University of Pune campus, Pune.

The interview program for the following temporary project posts tenable at NCCS, Pune.

Post: Post Doctoral Fellow, Senior Research Fellow

Sr. No . 01- Post Doctoral Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project: “ An Insertional Mutagenesis System to Identify Epigenetic Factors that Control Embryonic Stem Cell Differe ntiation ” under supervision of Dr. Nibedita Lenka, Scientist ‘F’
Upper Age limit: 35 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential: Ph.D. in Any Branch of Life Science or Equivalent Degree or MVSc/MTech with three years of research experience. Desirable: Candidates having experience on Stem Cell rese arch and sound knowledge on Mammalian Development Biology and E pigenetics will be preferred. Candidates are required to have good verbal and written communication skills in English. Experience in Mammalian Cell Culture, molecular tools and techniques.
Note: Those who have submitted Ph.D. thesis may also apply.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 22,000/- + 20% HRA
Tenure: Nine Months

Sr. No . 02- Senior Research Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project: “Exploring the neurogenic potential of Bone Marrow Stromal Cells ( BMS C,s) following inhibition of Bmp signaling” under supervision of Dr. Nibedita Lenka, Scientist ‘F’
Upper Age limit: 32 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential: M. Sc. or Equivalent Degree with minimum of 55% marks in Any Branch of Life Science and at least two years of post - M.Sc. research experience. Desirable: Candidates having ex perience on Stem Cell research and sound knowledge on Mammalian Development Biology and epigenetics will be preferred. Candidates are required to have good verbal and written communication skills in English. Experience in Mammalian Cell Culture, molecular tools and techniques.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 18,000/- + 20% HRA
Tenure: One Year and Six Months

Sr. No . 03- Senior Research Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project: “Regulation of T cell D evelopment and Differentiation by Nuclear Matrix Protein SMAR1: Its Implications in Immune Responses ” under supervision of Dr. Samit Chattopadhyay, Scientist ‘G’
Upper Age limit: 32 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential: M. Sc. or Equivalent Degree with minimu m of 55% marks in Any Branch of Life Science and at least two years of post - M.Sc. research experience.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 14,000/- + 20% HRA
Tenure: Four m onths and extendable for further period of six months

Sr. No . 04- Senior Research Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project: “Regulation of CD44 splicing by tumor suppressor SMAR1: Implications in cancer metastasis ” under supervision of Dr. Samit Chattopadhyay, Scientist ‘G’
Upper Age limit: 32 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential: M. Sc. or Equivalent Degree with minimum of 55% marks in Any Branch of Life Science and at least two years of post - M.Sc. research experience.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 18,000/- + 20% HRA
Tenure: Six m onths and extenda ble for further period of six months

Interviews will be conducted as per the serial numbers mentioned herein below:

* Applications in the prescribed format* duly filled in along with attested copies of all releva nt certificates showing date of birth, qualifications (SSC onwards mark sheets ), experi ence, details of the exam passed, caste status, recent passport size photograph and other necessary documents should reach to T he Director, National Centre For Cell Science, NCCS Complex, Pune University Campus, Behind Pune Vidyapeeth High School, (shishu vihar) post: Ganeshkhind, Pune – 411 007, Maharashtra, India on or before 10.10.2014. The envelope ( A 4 size only ) containing the application must be superscribed in bold letters on the top as under: “APPLICATI ON FOR THE POST OF PROJECT - ............, PUBLISHED VID E ADVT NO. ............... DATED : ...... / ... .. ../2014”.
* Applications received after the due date and / or without the copies of the required certificates /documents will not be considered. Incomplete applications will be strictly rejected. Candidates must be filled up late st prescribed application form available on our institute .
* Mere fulfilling the minimum prescribed qualifications and experience will not vest any right in a candidate for calling for interview. The Centre reserves the right to call for interview only those candidates who in its opinion are likely to be suitable. However, no any correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
* SC/ST candidates should produce proof of their caste certificate from appropriate authority and OBC candidates should produc e caste & latest non - creamy layer certificate s in the prescribed form for claiming the reservation benefits.
* The Director, NCCS reserves the right to enhance / reduce the number of posts and also to cancel the recruitment process.
* Candidates should specifi call y note that due to postal delay, late applications will not be entertained by this institute after due date and no correspondence will be made in this regard.
- Candidates are required to mention the post preference as per their int erest and research ar ea in the prescribed a pplication form.
- Fellowship/Emoluments: For RA /PDF Position, Candidates who are yet to be awarded the Ph.D. degree, if selected, will be paid Rs. 18,000/ - per month + HRA till the award of the degree.
- Emoluments to the research person nel engaged under project will be made in accordance with the DST O.M. No. A.20020/1197 - IFD dated 31.03.2010 .
- Candidates should mention title of the thesis, list of publications with full references in the application form.
- List of shortlisted candidates called for interview will be published on our institute website by 5.00 pm onwards on or after 27 /10 /2014.
* Upper age limit will be considered as on closing date of receipt of application . Age relaxation of 5 years in case of SC/ST/Women/PH and 3 years in case of OBC candidates will be given as per Government of India rules. Reservation as per Govt. of India norms will be followed.
* No TA will be paid for attending the interview.
* Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer of appointment.
* Please bring all the original certificates showing date of birth, qualification, statement of marks of the exam passed, degree certificates, certificate of past experience, certificate in support of present employment, salary certificate & other relevant documents along with a set of attested copies at the time of interview.
