Savitribai Phule Pune University, one of the premier universities in India, is positioned in the North-western part of Pune city. It occupies an area of about 411 acres. It was established on 10th February, 1949 under the Poona University Act. The university houses 46 academic departments. It is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. It has about 307 recognized research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges offering graduate and under-graduate courses.

M. Sc. Bioinformatics/Biotechnology with minimum three years of research experience in the areas mentioned above, a minimum of 55% marks in M.Sc. (50% for candidates belongs to reserved categories) or equivalent grade and at least one publication in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal.
Preference will be given to B.I.N.C. /J.R.F. /N.E.T. /S.E.T. qualified candidates.
Total emoluments :
Consolidated Rs.20,000/-(Including HRA) per month.
Tenure : For a period up to 31st March 2018. This may be
extended subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the said program.
