The journey of Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) began in the year 2005 by a group of ambitious academics with aspirations to provide high quality education both nationally and internationally. The first step in this direction was to take over an ailing engineering Institute, the Jagannath Institute for Technology and Management (JITM) in one of the most challenging tribal districts of Odisha and one which was considered to be a left-wing extremist affected area. Subsequently, JITM was transformed into Centurion University of Technology and Management in August 2010, through an act of Odisha Legislative Assembly. It became the First Multi-Sector State Private University in Odisha.

NISER recognizes that modern scientific research is carried out in interstices amongst fuzzy domains and blurred boundaries. This entails encouraging a new scientific culture where members of our community attain to an intellectual agility unconstrained by the limitations of disciplinary conventions from the past. Faculty and Students will be given generous material support in the pursuit to realize this objective. Time and conversational space will be devoted to nascent propositions and hypothesis and the significantly small student-faculty ratio, an eventual full strength of 2000 students and 300 faculty, manifests the Institutes investment and hope in the future.

AHRCC, Cuttack being one of the 27 RCCs of India at present started functioning since 24th April 1984 as an Odisha state-autonomous institution to facilitate treatment, education & training and research of cancer with modern and advanced method and technologies. Early detection and treatment with prevention of cancer is the motto of this institution. The Governing Body of this centre is constituted under the Chairmanship of the Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha.

Govt. of India has launched the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) as a sub-mission under overarching National Health Mission (NHM) for providing quality primary health care services to the urban population, especially the urban poor and other vulnerable sectors of the society, vide resolution No. L.19017/1/2008-UH (Vol-III), dated 15/05/2013 of MoH&FW, Govt. of India. The duration of the mission is from 2012-13 to 2016-17.

The Berhampur University came into existence on 2nd January 1967 being inaugurated by Dr. A.N. Khosla, the then Governor of Orissa and the first Chancellor of the University. The University was later shifted to the present site known as Bhanja Bihar, named after the celebrated poet of Orissa Kabisamrat Upendra Bhanja. Spreading over an area of about two hundred fifty acres the university is twelve kilometres and 5 kilometers away from the Berhampur City and Sea-beach of Gopalpur respectively.

This hospital was started in Koraput district as Dispensary in 1908 in an Old Building. It was upgraded to Local Fund Hospital in 1937 with 47 beds. It was shifted to the present building on 25.10.2004 with 188 functional beds. Now it has 300 functional beds.  Based on the scheme of Government of India, Government of Odisha has decided to upgrade this hospital into Medical College Hospital in view of benefit of patients not only in the undivided Koraput district but also other backward districts like Kalahandi, Nuapada as well as the two neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. This hospital is now named as Saheed Laxman Naik, Medical College Hospital, Koraput, Odisha.

The original name of the Bargarh District was “Baghar Kota” as known from an inscription of the 11th Century A.D. It was called “Bargarh” probably from the time of Balaram Dev, the Chauhan Raja of Sambalpur, who made it his headquarters and constructed a big fort for its protection.The old fort walls can be traced near the ‘Jira’ river towards the plane of Ambapali. Narayan Singh, the last Chauhan Raja granted this place in “Maufi” (free hold) to 2 Brahmin brothers Krushna Dash and Narayan Dash, sons of Baluki Dash who was killed in action by the Gond.
