    KSCSTE - Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (KSCSTE - JNTBGRI) was found in 1979 with the objective of establishing a Conservatory Botanic Garden of tropical plant resources in general and of the country and the Kerala state in particular. It also undertakes research programmes for the sustainable utilization of the resources. The idea of establishing the institute was conceived soon after the first United Nations Conference on human Environment, held in Stockholm in 1972 by the  Founder Director, the late Professor A. Abraham and its became his commitment to conserve the waning tropical plant species of India. Consequently, the institute was established as an autonomous R & D organization by the Government of Kerala in 1979.

    Defence Research & Development Establishment (DRDE), Gwalior is a premier laboratory under Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO). It is engaged in R&D activities on detection, protection and decontamination of chemical and biological agents. DRDE provides excellent opportunity to young and motivated researchers to pursue a research work in chemical and life sciences. The core competence of DRDE indudes: synthesis, evaluation and process development for toxicants and antidotes; detection and analysis of chemicals at trace levels; development of sensors for chemical and biological agents: toxicity studies and safety evaluation of chemicals in vitro and in vivo: DRDE is also engaged in the development of immunotogical and molecular detection systems for bacterial and viral agents of defence importance. Development of insect repellents and vector management strategies are also undertaken to prevent vector borne diseases. DRDE is actively engaged in bioremediation of organic waste at low temperature by microbial degradation. DRDE is the only laboratory in India working in above area of technologies. DRDE is also one of the few laboratories in the world, accredited by Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Warfare (OPCW).

It is registered under the Societies Registration Act (1860) and the Bombay Public Trust Act (1950). Its Governing Council is headed by the Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission, Government of India.

  • Vacancy for Junior Research Fellow at Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Science | M.Pharm, M.Sc

    The Institute of Life Sciences was conceived in the context of globalization, to foster research competence in India and to bridge the divide between academic research and the pharmaceutical & biotechnology industries. The institute was incorporated as a non-profit entity under Section 25 of the Indian companies act, facilitating operational autonomy. Construction of the ILS building comprising 44 labs and an administrative block and spanning -130,000 sq.ft. in area, began in 2004 and was completed in January 2007. The institute was inaugurated as a public-private partnership research institute on 29th January 2007, a culmination of the efforts and initiative of the Andhra Pradesh state government, Dr. Reddy's laboratories and the University of Hyderabad.
