NIAB, an autonomous institute under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for impr oving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenic technology, reproductive technology, infectious diseases, nutritional enrichment, and bioinformatics. The Institute aims at translational research leading to genetic enhancement of Indian Livestock species and development of novel vaccines, diagnostics and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals.

Senior Research Fellow under J. C. Bose Fellowship Scheme from DST of PI: Dr. Subeer S. Majumdar.

Tenable upto: October 2019.

Eligibility: Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Etc.) or Post Graduate degree in professional courses (M. Tech in Life Sciences, M. VSc. Etc.) with two years of research experience. The candidate should have qualified any ‘National Level Examination’ (CSIR/UGC-NET; DBT; ICMR) as per DST OM dated 21.10.2014, for applying the above positions.

Desired Experience: Experience in Signal Transduction Study/ Cell Culture/Primary culture/Real-time PCR/Molecular Biology.

Age: 35 years

Fellowship amount : If NET qualified then Rs.28000/-PM+30% HRA = 36,400/- PM as per the DST guidelines.

General Terms & Conditions:
1. The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for 6 months.
2. Applicants are to be directly appeared for the interview with complete Curriculum Vitae (with the names of three referees) along with originals and photocopy (1set) of all the documents in proof of their academic credentials and age. Curriculum Vitae should contain details of the experimental expertise and list of publications.
3. TA/DA will not be paid for attending the interview.
