The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963. The Institute was originally under the Government of undivided Punjab.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited for the post of JRFs in an ICMR funded project entitled “Pathogenesis of Osteoarthritis: Integrated approach based on transeriptome, protcoinc, micro RNA oinc analysis during progression of knee osteoarthritis.”
Eligibility : Master’s degree in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Microbial Biotechnology/ Human Genomics. Candidates should have cleared the ICMR-PGI National Eligibility Test/CSIR-UGC NET.
Desirable : Experience in molecular biology and proteomics techniques.
Remuneration : Rs 25,000/- pm + 20% HRA (as per ICMR rules)
Age limit : below 30 yrs.
The competent authority may select candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate and reserves the right to relax any of the qualification(s) in case the candidate is found otherwise well qualified by the Selection Committee.
