Kashi Institute of pharmacy was established in year 2009 with the visionary approach to provide courses of study and providing trained manpower to the society, in the field of pharmacy. The society was established with the aim that it would provide quality education to the students from the remote places, by running different educational institutes in the form of college, school, technical institutes, Niwasi Schools etc.  The management started Gawande College of Pharmacy, from 2015-16 initially for D.Pharm course  (2 years duration) with 60 intake capacity, thereafter from 2017-18 B.Pharm course (4 years duration) is started with intake capacity of 100 students. The College is approved by all apex bodies like AICTE/State Govt/DTE/PCI/MSBTE and Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University.

The Berhampur University came into existence on 2nd January 1967 being inaugurated by Dr. A.N. Khosla, the then Governor of Orissa and the first Chancellor of the University. The University was later shifted to the present site known as Bhanja Bihar, named after the celebrated poet of Orissa Kabisamrat Upendra Bhanja.
