Recruitment for Pharmacist under the Public Health Department

Administrative approval has been received (vide Hon. Municipal Commissioner’s approval no. MGC/F/5910 dated 25.03.2025) for the purely temporary appointment—on a contractual basis for an initial period of six months (179 days)—of various personnel at the 'Hinduhrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Aapla Davakhana' under the Public Health Department.

Educational Qualifications
1) The candidate must possess a Diploma in Pharmacy from the State Government's Board of Technical Education or a recognized university, or a Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university. (Preference will be given to a degree holder.)
2) The candidate must be registered with the Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council.
3) Registration must be renewed, if applicable.
4) Computer Knowledge : The candidate must hold a certificate from the DOEACC Society (CCC, 'O' Level, 'A' Level, 'B' Level, or 'C' Level) or a certificate from the Maharashtra State Board of Higher and Technical Education (MS-CIT or GECT).
5) The candidate must have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination or equivalent with Marathi as a subject (50-mark or 100-mark paper; Higher/Lower level).

Nature of Work
• To work under the guidance of the dispensary's Medical Officer and senior Municipal Corporation officials.
• To place indents for medicines required at the dispensary, as directed by the department's Senior Medical Officer.
• To maintain optimal medicine supplies and update stock levels in the HMIS to ensure timely indenting.
• To manage medicines according to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expiry, First-Out) principles.
• To dispose of expired medicines in accordance with established guidelines.
• To dispense medicines to patients and provide counseling (instructions on dosage/administration, side effects, and precautions/dos and don'ts). Recording medication details in the HMIS.
• Maintaining reports and record books, and submitting reports to the Medical Officer and higher authorities.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the Medical Officer of the dispensary.

Consolidated Honorarium : Rs. 20,000/- per month
Age Limit : Not to exceed 43 years as of 01.06.2026

This contractual appointment will initially be for a period of 179 days; if a candidate's performance is found to be satisfactory, reappointment on a contractual basis may be considered subject to administrative requirements.
