There was no Pharmacy College in this region till 1981 and Dr. Patangrao Kadam, Founder of Bharati Vidyapeeth, realising the need for training the students in Pharmaceutical Sciences established Poona College of Pharmacy in 1981. Thus this college is the pioneering pharmacy institute in this region.

R. C. Patel Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Formerly known as R.C. Patel College of Pharmacy established in June 1992 with the aim to enhance the quality education in the field of Pharmacy and empower the quality pharmacist so that they serve the society to develop lifesaving drugs. Right from its establishment the institute has maintained the quality with assurance in terms of Accreditation from National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi (NBA) twice on 2005 and 2009 for the B. Pharm course. Institute also accredited by NAAC, Bangalore for the period of 5 years.

Retired Armed Forces personnel till 2002 could avail medical facilities only for specific high cost surgery/treatment for a limited number of diseases covered under the Army Group Insurance(Medical Branch Scheme) (AGI(MBS)) and Armed Forces Group Insurance Scheme(Management Information System) (AFGIS (MIS)) schemes. These medicare schemes could provide some relief to the ESM, but it was not a comprehensive scheme as compared to and available for other Central Government Employees. Therefore, the requirement was felt of establishing a medicare system which could provide quality medicare to the retirees of the Armed Forces.

Parbhani, earlier also known as “Prabhavatinagar”, is one of the Eight districts in the Marathawada region of Maharashtra State  This entire Marathwada region, a district geographical region, was a part of the erstwhile Nizam State, later a part of Hyderabad State, after reorganization of states in 1956 it became a part of the then Bombay state and from 1960 onwards it is part of the present Maharashtra state.  Parbhani district lies between 18.45 and 20.10 North Latitudes and 76.13 and 77.39 East Longitude.

The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is a Comprehensive Cancer Centre with a mission to achieve the highest standards in patient care, cancer prevention, cancer research and professional development for oncology and allied disciplines. TMC is an autonomous body funded, controlled by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. TMC is affiliated to Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). BITS Pilani Goa Campus started functioning in August 2004 and was formally inaugurated by Hon'ble Prime Minster of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh on May 5, 2006.  The Campus is spread over an area os 180 acres and the location of the campus is unique with respect to the scenic beauty and panoramic view of picturesque surrounding with Zuari river, hillocks, waterways and forest.
