ABSTRACT
KPO is latest wave to hit outsourcing business globally, booming sector with tremendous potential. It employs more then 25000 people currently. Introduction
A softgel or soft gelatin capsule is a solid capsule (outer shell) surrounding a liquid or semi-solid center (inner fill). An active ingredient can be incorporated into the outer shell, the inner fill, or both. They are oral dosage form for medicine similar to capsules. Softgel shells are a combination of gelatin, water, opacifier and a plasticizer such as glycerin and/or sorbitol(s).

The Drug and Cosmetic Act 1940 and Rules 1945, a central legislation regulating the manufacture, sale, and quality of drugs and formulations in India provide definition of 'Spurious Drug' under its section 17-B.

  • If it is manufactured under a name which belongs to another drug
  • If it is imitation of, or is a substitute for, another drug or resembles another drug in a manner likely to deceive or bears upon it or upon its label or container the name of another drug unless it is plainly and conspicuously marked so as to reveal its true character and its lacks of identity with such other drug
  • If the label or container bears the name of an individual or company purporting to be manufacturer of the drug; which individual or company is fictitious or does not exist
  • It has been substituted wholly or in part by another drug or substance or
  • If it purports to be the product of manufacturer of whom it is not truly a product.

World AIDS Day is distinguished on 01st December every year to increase awareness about HIV/AIDS and to demonstrate international unity in the face of the endemic. The day is an occasion for communal and private partners to disseminate information about the status of the pandemic and to encourage progress in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care around the world, predominantly in high prevalence countries.

FDA DRUG APPROVAL PROCESS: A CHALLENGING TASK

The FDA is gatekeeper for access to new drugs. As such, it gets a lot of scrutiny time. Different peoples have different opinions. There are those who claim that the FDA is too lenient in its decision making process and that it unleashes unproven new drugs on an unsuspecting public that presumes any medicine approved is safe and efficacious. Others will assail the FDA as being far too conservative and say that the agency is unnecessarily delaying access to new life-saving drugs because of its bureaucracy.
