Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility (SAIF), formerly known as Regional Sophisticated Instrumentation Centre-RSIC, at CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow has been providing excellent analytical service for the last 40 years and is one of the first four such facilities set up by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India in mid seventies.

Retired Armed Forces personnel till 2002 could avail medical facilities only for specific high cost surgery/treatment for a limited number of diseases covered under the Army Group Insurance(Medical Branch Scheme) (AGI(MBS)) and Armed Forces Group Insurance Scheme(Management Information System) (AFGIS (MIS)) schemes. ABSTRACT
'Gowri chinthamani chendooram', a siddha drug was evaluated for its acute and chronic toxicity studies in wistar albino rats with reference to haematological, bio-chemical and histopathological studies. Acute study revealed a maximum tolerated does of 640 mg/100 gm b.w chronic toxicity study revealed a minimum toxic effect at adoes level of 40 mg/100 gm b.w. Where in, the changes observed were non-specific. The toxicity findings were dose specific, which had tissue damage in higher dosages.
