CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, is a premier Institute working under the aegis of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body under the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.

This Institute invites applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the following project-based position(s), purely on a temporary basis, under the ICMR funded project No. GAP-3183 titled “ Lead optimization of identified Coumarinand Indazoline anti-TB Scaffolds targeting Drug-Resistant and Latent Tuberculosis” tenable at CSIR-IIIM, Jammu

Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Med.) Biology [01 Position]
Essential Qualification : Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Pharmaceutical Sciences /Zoology from a recognized university or equivalent
Roles & Responsibilities : Candidates with prior experience working in BSL-3 laboratories and handling BSL-2 and BSL-3 pathogens will be preferred. Those with experience in microbiology, molecular biology, or related disciplines—along with expertise in drug efficacy and cytotoxicity assessment using ex vivo and in vivo models—and familiarity with enzymatic assays, gene expression profiling, and target validation techniques, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, will also be preferred. Candidates with PhD in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Pharmaceutical Sciences /Zoology from a recognized university or equivalent would be preferred.
Upper Age Limit : 35 Years
Monthly Emoluments (per month in ₹) : ₹56,000/- + HRA*

Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Med.) Chemistry [01 Position]
Essential Qualification : MSc. Chemistry Degree from a recognized university or equivalent
Roles & Responsibilities : Candidates with previous experience in multistep organic synthesis, structural optimization, molecular modelling, pharmacokinetic profiling, AI modelling and experience in scientific writing as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications will be preferred. Candidates with PhD in Chemistry from a recognized university or equivalent would be preferred.
Upper Age Limit : 35 Years
Monthly Emoluments (per month in ₹) : ₹56,000/- + HRA*

General Terms, Conditions & Instructions
1) The engagement will initially be for a period of One Year or until the project duration, whichever is earlier. It may be extended or curtailed depending on the project duration, requirements and the performance/conduct of the incumbent(s).The current duration of the project is up-to 21.05.2028.
2) The tenure of engagement shall be co-terminus with the project. However, under no circumstances shall the total tenure exceed Five years, including engagement in all CSIR labs. Performance will be reviewed periodically and unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination without any notice or reason.
3) The position(s) are purely temporary and are on behalf of the sponsor and, therefore, not confer any right on the incumbent(s) to any claim, implicit or explicit, for absorption on any post in CSIR-IIIM/CSIR.
4) Candidates will have the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
5) Relaxation in age limit will be given as per Govt. of India Rules. Age will be reckoned as on the last date of application.
6) Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
7) The number of positions may vary depending upon the project requirements at the time of Interview.
8) The Director, CSIR-IIIM reserves the right to not to fill any or all advertised positions.
9) Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification for the positions.
10) Candidates currently engaged in any project at CSIR-IIIM must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before applying for any new vacancy. Applications/ candidature/ selection of such candidates will only be considered if the NOC has been issued by the office.
11) Interim enquiries will not be entertained.
12) All applicants must fulfil the essential qualification and other conditions stipulated in the advertisement as on the date of Interview. They are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the essential qualifications laid down as on the last date of application.

Mode of Selection : Selection is to be done on the basis of Interview; however, if a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may revisit the Screening criteria, if required.
