Life Sciences Recruitment at NICPR

National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (NICPR) was initially established as Cytology Research Centre (CRC) by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in 1979 and was elevated to the level of Institute in 1989. Its mandate was broadened to carry out research in cancer prevention and was renamed as National Institute in 2016.

Essential Qualification : 1st class three-year Bachelor's degree in science/relevant subject from a recognized University in relevant field OR 1st class three-year Engg. Diploma from a recognized institute with two years’ experience in relevant field OR 1st class Engineering/Technology degree in relevant subject from recognized university or Institute Relevant subjects (Any one of the subjects) : Life sciences/Biosciences/Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Biochemistry/Chemistry/Pharmacology
Upper Age limit : 30 Years (relaxation will be given as per GoI rules)

Terms and Conditions
1. Number of posts/reservations shown above are tentative and may increase or decrease at any stage of recruitment as per direction of the competent authority.
2. Corrigendum, if any, shall be published on ICMR and ICMR-NICPR websites ONLY.
3. Crucial date for calculating the age will be the last date of accepting applications i.e., 11/12/2023
4. Permissible relaxation of upper age limit as per for claiming age relaxation as on last date of receipt of application is as under: -
SC/ST : 5 years (Annexure 1)
OBC (Non-creamy) : 3 years (Annexure 2 & 3)
PwBD : 10 years (Annexure 4 & 5)
PwBD + OBC (Non-creamy)     : 13 years
PwBD + SC/ST : 15 years
5. Persons working in ICMR projects continuously shall also be eligible for age relaxation up to five years provided he/she has entered into project service within prescribed age limit for the post (Annexure 6).
6. Applicants working in Central/State Govt./Public Sector undertakings/Govemment funded organization etc. should apply through proper channel and must produce NO OBJECTION certificate from the employer at the time of applying for the post (Annexure 7)
7. Candidates who are applying under the EWS category must produce an EWS certificate (Annexure 8).
8. Experience wherever applicable shall be counted post the essential qualification.


9. Nationality/Citizenship
• A candidate must be either:
(i) A citizen of India, or
(ii) Subject of Nepal, or
(iii) A subject of Bhutan, or
(iv) A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. • Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the
Government of India. A candidate in whose case, a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Test, but the offer of appointment will be given only after, the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/ her by the Government of India.
10. Selection shall be through Computer Based Test (CBT). Date, time and venue of CBT will be communicated through admit cards/call letters on the email ID ONLY given by the applicant in the Application Form. Candidates are advised to check their email at regular basis including spam folder of email. No enquiry in this regard will be entertained. Admit cards shall NOT be sent by post. Applicants are responsible for taking a print out of the admit cards from their email.
11. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the CBT or document verification and the applicants will have to make their own arrangement.
12. Due to unavoidable reasons, if an exam is cancelled or rescheduled to a different date/time/location, candidates are responsible for making their own arrangements.
13. Fees once paid will neither be refunded nor be held in reserve for any other recruitment or selection process. No enquiry shall be entertained in this regard.
14. Applicants, in their own interest are advised to constantly check the websites of ICMR ('https://main.icmr.nic.in/) and ICMR-NICPR ('http://nicpr.org) for information/updates related with the recruitment process, ICMR/ICMR-NICPR will not be responsible if any candidate misses any important recruitment information posted on the websites.
15. Applicants, in their own interest, are advised to satisfy themselves regarding eligibility for the post applied for. They must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria i.e., age, essential qualification, experience, reservation, etc. No corrections in the application form submitted shall be allowed.
16. Applicants should make sure that the documents uploaded are complete, legible and of good quality, or else shall be rejected.
17. Applicants are also advised to submit the application well in advance of the last date to avoid server/internet or any other issues related to submission. ICMR-NICPR shall not accept any request/complaint in this regard.
18. In case of any discrepancy found in Hindi version of advertisement, the contents as given in the English version of advertisement will prevail.

Other Service Conditions
19. ICMR Technical Cadre Integrated Recruitment and Assessment Rules, 2017, issued by ICMR, New Delhi vide OM No. 16/8/2017-Admn-II, dated 10th November 2017 shall be applicable to the appointees. The period of Probation will be TWO years for all the posts from date of joining. Other terms and conditions regarding Probation will be as per the rules of ICMR/GOI issued from time to time.
20. Pay and other allowances are admissible as per ICMR rules. Benefit of new restructured defined in Contributory Pension System is admissible for new entrants as per provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB /& PR Division) Notification No / 5/7/2003 - ECB & PR dated 22/12/2003 effective from 1/1/2004.
21. The post is with all India transfer liability under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)


Application fee
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) / SC / ST / Women are Exempted from payment of fee.
• For all others: Rs. 300/- + taxes and service charges as applicable
Mode of payment : The candidates can deposit the above application fee through online payment gateway available at the APPICATION PORTAL using credit/debit card/Net Banking/UPI etc.

Important Instructions
• Applicants should upload necessary documents regarding Work Experience, Educational Qualifications, Caste Certificates, PwBD certificate etc. while filling the application.
• Candidates belonging to the PwBD categoiy, requiring a scribe during examinations, must complete a request form (Annexure 9) to arrange for their own scribe in accordance with Government of India norms.
• ICMR-NICPR will not be responsible for any loss of email sent, due to invalid/wrong email ID provided by the candidate or for del ay /non receipt of information if a candidate fails to access his/her mail/website in time.
• All correspondence with candidates regarding the CBT will be done only on the registered e¬  mail ID provided by candidate,
• The exam will be held in Delhi-NCR and Noida Only.
• Information regarding exam credentials will be provided through email. The intimation other than the above i.e. result of CBT, merit list etc. will be given through notice on ICMR/ICMR-NICPR/MKCL RecruitLive websites ONLY.
• Candidates are not required to send any document to ICMR-NICPR, Noida.
• Candidates will be allowed to appear in the Online Computer based Test only if they possess a print out of the valid Photo Admit Card which will be available for downloading from the MKCL RecruitLive website and prescribed original photo identity card.
