BanNational Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Hajipur, is an autonomous Institute of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. NIPER Hajipur is establishing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Biological Therapeutics with substantial funding from the DoP under the Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma-MedTech (PRIP) scheme.
The aim of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Biological Therapeutics is to develop integrated platforms that enable the generation of Monoclonal Antibodies/Peptides/Proteins/Advanced Vaccines or Biosimilars with high specificity against specific targets of diagnostic and therapeutic interest. Our focus is on non-GMP production-like environments/facilities and test beds for education, innovation, and proof-of- concept experiments in the production of biological products, e.g., monoclonal antibodies, therapeutic enzymes, peptides and proteins, vaccines and gene therapy products.

Essential Qualification : PhD in Biological/ Pharmacological Sciences with a minimum of 10 years of progressive industrial experience in the biopharmaceutical sector.
Desirable :
a) Extensive experience in the biotech industry in developing biologics/biosimilars, including monoclonal antibodies/ Proteins/ Vaccines and related Biopharmaceuticals
b) Demonstrated ability in end‑to‑end product development, with at least one biotherapeutic molecule taken from project initiation to regulatory submission.
c) Proven track record in regulatory‑compliant development of recombinant antibody/ protein-based therapeutics with extensive knowledge in both upstream and downstream processing of Mammalian/ microbial culture-based product development.
d) Should have the proven leadership and management quality of working with various scientists and industry experts.
e) Sound knowledge of ICH guidelines for regulatory submissions.

Business Development Officer/ Project Manager

Essential Qualification : An MBA degree in business, marketing, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, licensing within the pharmaceutical, biotech, CDMO industry involving biologics/biosimilars or allied products. OR Master’s degree in any branch of life Sciences with at least 5 years of experience in the above-mentioned areas. Desirable :
a) Should have experience in blending scientific understanding of various projects of life sciences and its commercial acumen involving academic and establishegd industry partners.
b) A person having an MBA in Pharmaceutical Management/ regulatory affairs or a PhD in biological/pharmaceutical sciences with experience in bridging scientific research with business strategy involving product life cycle management, clinical research, and compliance for biopharmaceuticals.

Senior Scientist - 02 (Two)

Essential Qualification : PhD in Biological Science / Biotechnology/ Life Science/ Pharmacological Sciences with a minimum of 5 years of post-PhD experience in reputed national/international laboratories and/or relevant industry experience in biological therapeutics and product development
Desirable :
a) Hands-on Expertise in monoclonal antibody (mAb) or biosimilar development, proficiency in upstream and/or downstream processing using variable volume bioreactors. Day-to-day operation of mammalian cell culture fermenters, including CHO/HEK systems. Hands-on experience with single-cell printer, imager and related cell line development instruments Experience in advanced molecular biology techniques, stable cell line development, downstream processing of biosimilars/ recombinant peptides or proteins, purification workflows, and bioanalytical characterization Capacity to manage end-to-end biosimilar/biologics development pipelines, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Experience working in GMP-compliant biopharmaceutical facilities. Familiarity with regulatory expectations for biologics development.
b) Knowledge of upstream and downstream in cell therapy (CAR-T), gene therapy, cell-based assays, and immunotherapy platforms.
c) Experience with biosimilar or biologics and monoclonal antibody functional assays/new alternative methods (NAMs such as 3D- organoids), Biosimilar or Biologics Immunosafety / toxicity d) Experience with Cell Bank preparation, Characterization for regulatory submissions. All the above should be supported by evidence in peer-reviewed publications, including preprints, if any, granted patents, or translational outputs. Prior experience in designing independent research projects and mentoring students/trainees is highly desirable. Scientist / Post- Doctoral Fellow (PDF) - 03 (Three)

Essential Qualification : PhD in Biological Science/Life Science/Biotechnology/ Pharmacological Sciences with 0 to 3 years of post-PhD experience. PhD thesis submitted candidates will also be considered upon recommendation from their PhD thesis supervisors.
Desirable : a) Hands-on experience in upstream and downstream processing of biologicals, biosimilars, or protein-based therapeutics developed using different fermentation systems. Proven skills in cloning, expression, purification, bioassays/NAMs and analytical characterization of biomolecules produced from different host systems. OR
b) Knowledge and experience in CRISPR/Cas9-based gene editing, strain engineering, phage display, or vaccine development. Familiarity with advanced analytical platforms such as HRMS, CD, DSC, FPLC, CE-SDS, preparative HPLC and a range of chromatography and bioassay techniques relevant to biologics development. The knowledge of handing and operation of Bioreactors of 2-10 L and knowledge of upstream and downstream in Biosimilars, cell therapy (CAR T), gene therapy, cell-based assays, and immunotherapy platforms OR c) Experience with biosimilar or biologics and monoclonal antibody functional assays/new alternative methods (such as 3D-organoids), Immuno-safety/toxicity. OR d) Experience in antibody–drug/bio conjugates (ADCs), proven expertise in and across antibody engineering, linker–payload chemistry, conjugation process development, and their characterization. All the above should be supported by evidence from peer-reviewed publications, including preprints, and, if any granted patents are available, they are highly desirable.

Technician / Project Assistant - 05 (Five)

Essential Qualification : Master’s degree in Biological Science/Life Science/Biotechnology/ Pharmacological Sciences from a recognized University/Institute. The students who are appearing for their final semester/year examinations and expected to get their degrees within 1-2 months from that examination dates can also apply for the said post. Desirable: a) Basic knowledge and hands-on experience in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, bioanalytical techniques, working experience with Bioreactors, and Knowledge of upstream and downstream in cell therapy (CAR-T), gene therapy, cell-based assays, and immunotherapy platforms b) Experience with biosimilar or biologics and monoclonal antibody functional assays/new alternative methods (NAMs such as 3D-organoids), Immuno-safety/toxicity Candidates with 1-3 years of work experience in the above areas in a reputed research lab/industry will be preferred.
Salary : Rs. 37,000/- + HRA
General Instructions
1. Candidates of Indian nationality can only apply for these posts.
2. All the advertised positions are strictly on a contractual basis. These positions are project-based and will be co-terminus with the project.
3. The selected candidates will be given an initial contract for 01 year, which can be extended from time to time based on performance, for a maximum of the project completion duration. The contract may be terminated by either party upon one month's advance written notice.
4. If at any stage during the recruitment process, it is found that candidates have furnished false or wrong information, their candidature will be rejected.
5. Incomplete applications or those without relevant supporting documents will be rejected.
6. The candidates should submit separate applications for separate posts.

17. Other terms & conditions will be governed as per guidelines issued by the DoP / NIPER Hajipur for the engagement of the above positions, as amended from time to time.
18. The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum, and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for an interview.
19. In case of exceptional candidate(s) or having very long experience in a suitable area higher pay may be given by the Competent Authority.
20. All education, professional and technical qualifications should be from a recognized Board/University/Institute. Experience shall be counted for work done after the qualifying degree for the relevant position.
21. Candidates must ensure that he/she fulfil all the eligibility criteria as stipulated in the advertisement. If it is found that he/she does not fulfil the stipulated criteria during the recruitment process, the candidate's candidature will be cancelled. If the same is noticed after the appointment, the candidate will be terminated in accordance with due process.
22. The competent authority has the discretion to relax eligibility for exceptional candidates.
