Pharmacist Vacancy under Bharat Health Initiative at AIIMS

All India Institute of Medical Sciences Patna is strategically located to address regional imbalances in healthcare services, research, and training. It was established under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) during the first phase following the- then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s visionary announcement in Independence Day Speech on 15th August 2003. AIIMS Patna was one amongst six hospitals along with Raipur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, and Rishikesh, in the country to improve healthcare facilities, provide quality medical education in super-specialty disciplines, and promote healthcare inclusion in underserved areas.

Applications are invited for the recruitment of the following posts on purely contractual basis under the BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog, Hita, and Maitri) cubes project, AIIMS, Patna, Bihar as under:

Post : Pharmacist / Nursing Officer

Essential Qualification: -
• B. Pharmacy from a recognized university.
• Registered with Pharmacy council with 02 year of experience post qualification.
OR
• B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized university.
• Registered with Indian Nursing Council with 02 years of experience post qualification.
OR
• 10+2 with science stream (PCB) from a recognized institute.
• Approved diploma in pharmacy/GNM Nursing from an institute recognized by pharmacy council of India/ Indian Nursing council (as applicable)
• Registered with Pharmacy council/ Nursing council (as applicable)
• 03 years’ experience post essential qualification as Pharmacist/ Nurse.

Desirable : • working knowledge of computer applications.

Age Limit : Up to 40 years

Pay (in Indian Rupees) : Rs. 40,000/-Per Month
Sunset period of project : March 2026 (Subject to Scheme approval for further continuation)

Job Description :
The position is purely temporary: Dispense medicine as per treatment protocols. Maintain accurate and update drug inventory ensure proper record keeping.in BH1SHM Cube. Any other duty assigned by the Nodal officer from time to time.

Responsibilities :
• Dispense medications as per treatment protocols.
• Maintain accurate and updated drug inventory within the BHISHM Cube.
• Ensure proper record-keeping of all pharmacy- related activities, including dispensing and stock movement. Assist in the procurement, replenishment, and management of essential drugs and medical supplies.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, institutional policies, and quality standards.
• Assist in performing laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures as per medical requirements.
• Collect, label, and prepare biological samples for testing or analysis.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of specimens, reagents, and medical supplies.
• Maintain accurate and updated records of laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, and equipment maintenance.
• Assist with data entry, documentation, and basic analysis related to patient care and diagnostics. Perform other related duties as assigned to support effective functioning of the BHISHM Cube.
• Provide support in the maintenance, deployment, operation, and demobilization of BHISHM Cubes, in alignment with institute-specific SOPs.
• Any other activities assigned by the competent authority.

Selection Process : Mode of selection : Interview
(However, a written test will be conducted prior to the interview if the number of eligible candidates exceeds 30 for a particular post, as per the SOP)
The above post is to be filled purely on contract basis. The post is co-terminus with the project or one year whichever is earlier, unless extended. The extension may be considered for 6 months at a time, maximum for two times after a review of the work done in the project if the project in existence. General Instructions
1. It is candidates’ responsibility to ascertain and ensure their eligibility as per the prescribed qualification and experience. If any declaration given or information furnished by him/her proves false or if he/she is found to have willfully suppressed any material or information, he/she will be liable for removal from service and also such other action as the Government may deem necessary. Even after qualifying in the selection process the candidate may be rendered disqualified at the time of document verification if he/she does not fulfill essential eligibility criteria.
2. Tenure : The assignments are purely on contract basis and co-terminus with project or one year whichever is earlier, unless extended. These appointments shall not vest any right to claim by the candidate for regular appointment or permanent absorption in AIIMS, Patna or continued contractual appointment. The extension may be considered after a review of the work done on the project.
3. Expiry of Contract: The contract will automatically expire on completion of sunset period or earlier in case of withdrawal of support by funding agency. The contractual engagement can be terminated at any time by either side by giving 30 days’ notice or salary in lieu thereof. The engagement may be terminated forthwith without any salary in case repeatedly disorderly conduct.
4. Leave: The contractual appointee for the project shall be entitled for maximum 12 leaves in a year. No leave shall be cany forward and no payment shall be made for unused leave. The appointee will be eligible for leave on prorata basis. Not more than 2 days leave can be taken in one go.
5. Accommodation: No hostel or any other accommodation shall be provided by the institute.
6. Canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification.
7. The prescribed qualification is minimum and mere possessing the same does not entitle any candidate for selection.
8. The appointment is full time and private practice of any type is prohibited.
9. He/She is expected to conform to the rules of conduct and discipline as applicable to the institute employees.
10. The decision of the competent authority regarding the selection of the candidate shall be final and no representation will be entertained in this regard.

11. The competent Authority reserves the right of any amendment, cancellation and changes to this advertisement as a whole or in part without assigning any reason or giving notice.
12. Interview will be held at AIIMS Patna. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the same.
