The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.
The Department of Dermatology invites applications from eligible candidates for following temporary project positions under two research projects. The positions are purely contractual and co-terminus with the project, as per ICMR guidelines.
Project Research Scientist – I (Non- Medical) - 01 Post
Project 1 : “To study the eƯectiveness of local infusion of autologous peripheral blood haematopoietic stem cells (ApbHSCs) in patients with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa: A role in lowering inflammation and promoting wound healing.”
Essential Qualification : First Class Postgraduate Degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Immunology / Biochemistry or related field OR Second Class PG with PhD OR First Class 4-year Graduate Degree in Engineering / Technology
Desirable Qualification : Experience in stem cell biology, cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISA, and molecular techniques
Age Limit : Up to 35 years
Emoluments : Rs. 56,000 + HRA
Project Research Scientist – I (Non- Medical) - 01 Post
Project 2 : “miR-2909 Inhibition as a Targeted Strategy for Repigmentation in Refractory Vitiligo Lesions.”
PI-Prof. Davinder Parsad
Essential Qualification : First Class Postgraduate Degree in Life Sciences / Molecular Biology / Genetics / Biotechnology with 3 years of research experience OR PhD in a relevant subject
Desirable Qualification : Experience in Animal Handling, microRNA biology, qPCR, transcriptomics, and molecular dermatology research
Age Limit : Up to 40 years
Emoluments : Rs. 67,000 + HRA
Note : These positions are purely temporary, initially for 1 year, with extension based on performance and project duration, as per ICMR rules. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview at the Department of Dermatology. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
