The Central University of Punjab, has been established in 2009 along with other new Central Universities by an Act of Parliament (No 25, of 2009). Central University has completed a remarkable journey of 13 years. University is accredited ‘A+’ grade in 2023 in second accreditation cycle by NAAC and has secured 95th, 87th and 84th, 81st, 100th and 83rd rank in the year 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 respectively in the University category of NIRF. It is credited with highest per capita research funding. The university has a mission of providing a wide range of instructional and research facilities across integrated and cross-disciplines, promote innovation in teaching, learning and research, and cross-pollinate new ideas, new technologies and new world-views.
Applications in the prescribed format are invited for the following project positions on a short-term basis
Title of the Project : Design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of novel pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives as thymidylate synthase inhibitors
Funding Agency : ANRF
Project Duration : 01-06-2024 to 31-05-27
No. of Posts : 01
Emoluments : Rs. 42000/- + HRA
Term of engagement : Initially, for a period of one year, further extendable based on extension of the project, satisfactory work, conduct and availability of funds in the project head.
Essential Qualification : 1. First/Second class M. Pharm. / M.S. Pharm.; Ph.D. (Pharmaceutical Sciences)
2. At least one publication in a SCI journal
Desirable Qualification : 1. Experience in the synthesis of medicinally potent compounds.
2. Experience in designing novel compounds using in silico approaches.
3. Experience in biological experiments, including cell culture, enzymatic assays, western blotting, MTT assays, animal handling, and execution of animal study protocols in models.
4. Experience in scientific manuscripts and patent drafting.
5. Good communication skills
Experience Required : 1. At least one year of research experience
Terms and Conditions
1. The above mentioned post(s) is/are purely temporary for a limited period or duration of the Research Project funded by the funding agency.
2. Applicants shall be required to show the original documents at the time of interaction cum interview, and/or joining
3. No T.A/D.A. or any other allowances will be paid for attending the interaction cum interview.
4. The University reserves the right to withdraw this advertisement or increase/decrease the number of posts at any time without assigning any reason.
5. The right is also reserved with the University either to fill or not to fill the vacancies. The decision of the university's Competent Authority in this regard shall be final.
6. Suppression of factual information, supply of fake documents, providing false or misleading information or any other undesirable action by the candidate shall lead to cancellation of his /her candidature. In case, it is detected at any point of time in future even after engagement that the candidate was not eligible as per the prescribed qualification, experience etc. which could not be detected at the time of Test/Interaction cum Interview due to whatever circumstances, his/her engagement shall be liable to be terminated forthwith as per this clause and also based on his/her undertaking.
