Post : Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical)

For ICMR funded Project entitled “3D Printed Tissue engineered Islet transplant system (3D-PITS)-Influence of extrinsic factors and microenvironment for protecting and enhancing the viability and functionality of differentiated islet-like clusters” P.8254

Qualification (Essential) : Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees in Biochemistry / Biotechnology with 3 years’ post qualification experience or PhD in research areas related to Biomedical Science / Tissue engineering.

Experience (Desirable) : Experience in research areas related to Biomedical Science / Tissue Engineering.

Job description : To conduct In vitro cell culture and tissue construct characterization. Staining, characterization and microscopy of constructs. To assist in animal experimentation, and follow-up studies including post-surgical characterization. Analysis and interpretation of data. Writing project reports, and journal/conference papers. Managing project related activities and coordinating with the team in the collaborating Institute.

Duration : Initially for a period upto 16.08.2026, likely to be extended upto 16.02.2028.

Monthly emoluments : Rs.67,000/- + 18% HRA

The applications will be screened and eligible candidates will be called for an Interview to be conducted at the Biomedical Technology Wing of the Institute at Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 012. Intimation regarding the schedule of interview will be sent to their email id provided in the ONLINE application form. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Experience wherever prescribed means experience gained AFTER acquiring the prescribed essential qualification.

Note : Depending on the number of candidates, a written test of a qualifying nature will be conducted for initial screening and only qualified candidates will be called for interview. Marks obtained in the written test, if conducted, will not be counted for final ranking.
