Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) invites applications for the position of Project Research Scientist – I to work under ICMR-sponsored research project titled “Assessment of Pharmacogenomics and Metabolomics as Potential Preemptive Biomarkers for Antitubercular Drug-Induced Liver Injury in TB patients” at the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MAHE, Manipal. The selected candidates will work in a multidisciplinary team to carry out the research project.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications : • MLT/MSc/MPharm/PharmD/MTech (Laboratory technology / Microbiology / Molecular biology / Biotechnology / Pharmacy Practice preferred) 

Skills required/desired : 
• Clinical research experience of at least 2 years, preferably in tuberculosis 
• Adverse drug reaction monitoring-based research 
• Molecular biology techniques, blood sample collection, and follow-up monitoring of patients 
• Pharmacogenomic single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis using real-time PCR. Metabolomics research experience 
• Systematic review and scientific writing experience with peer-reviewed publications 
• Strong communication, leadership, and computer skills 

Duties and responsibilities : 
• Patient recruitment, adverse drug reaction monitoring, and follow-up 
• Data management and analysis 
• Preprocessing of biological samples and storage 
• Extraction of genomic DNA 
• Assessment of SNP analysis using real-time PCR 
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team 
• Manuscript writing and publications


Remuneration : Rs. 56,000 + 10% HRA (Rs. 61,600 per month)
