The Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani) is an all-India Institute for higher education. Founded in 1964 in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, it is one of the top most educational Institute in India.  The institute is one among the 6 Indian 'Institutes of Eminence' recognized by the Government of India in 2018. It is established across 4 campuses and has 15 academic departments. The BITS, Pilani - K. K. Birla Goa Campus, is about 10 kms south of Vasco-da-Gama, 20 kms north of Margaon and 7 kms east of Goa Airport, along National Highway – 17B, Bypass road.

Applications are invited for one (1) post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a SERB sponsored project entitled, “Evaluation of Antifungal activity of Lipopeptides from a Wild- type Bacillus sp. RLID12.1 in Mouse Models of invasive Candidiasis, Cryptococcosis, and Aspergillosis".

Duration: Three years

Nature of work: Purification, Characterization and In vivo toxicity study

Eligibility criterion JRF:
(i) M.E/M.Tech./M.Pharm. or equivalent degree in Biotechnology or any branch of Life Science (with at least 60% marks or first class or equivalent)
(ii) M.Sc.(Biochemistry/Microbiology/Biotechnology), B.E., B. Tech. or equivalent (at least 60% or equivalent) with NET/GATE, and prefereably one year of post research relevant experience.

Age limit: 28 years as on the last date of application.

Desirable: Candidates with knowledge of purification, Proteomics techniques (chromatography) are encouraged to apply.

Emoluments: Rs.25,000/- per month fixed.
