M.Pharm or M.Sc Job in time bound research project at BITS Pilani

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science, BITS Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education. Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). in a time bound research project for a temporary period purely on a contractual basis as per the following details.

Project Title : Design and evaluation of low-cost lab-on-chip noninvasive device for diagnosis of Psoriasis skin disorder : Investigation of skin elasticity in skin psoriatic disease condition and correlation with treatment efficacy of designed nanoformulation

Principal Investigator : Dr. Gautam Singhvi, Department of Pharmacy, BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus, Rajasthan.

Project Tenure : 3 years


Job Description : Following are the job description for 2 JRFs respectively:
JRF 1 : The candidate will develop drug delivery systems for topical administration. The candidate will be involved in formulation design, optimization and characterization. He/she will also characterize the biomedical device and test on the animal samples. Additionally, he/she will examine the influence of nanoformulation on the response of skin. He/she will also write the research papers in indexed journals, conferences and patents.
JRF 2 : The candidate will develop a lab-on-chip device to measure skin elasticity and diagnose Psoriasis. He/she will also characterize the biomedical device and test on the animal samples. Additionally, he/she will examine the influence of nanoformulation on the response of skin. He/she will also compare the results with existing models and will propose new models based on findings. He/she will also write the research papers in indexed journals, conferences, and patents.

Essential Qualification :
JRF 1 : First class in Master's Degree M.Pharm or MS or M.Tech in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics / Drug delivery / Industrial pharmacy) /Biomedical/ Nanotechnology from a recognized University + GATE/NET/GPAT qualified will be preferred.
JRF 2 : First class in Master's Degree with specialization in Mechanical Engineering/ Biomedical Engineering / Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from a recognized University with good knowledge of dynamics and microfabrication and microfluidics + GATE/NET/GPAT/ DST / DBT / ICMR qualified will be preferred.

Fellowship : 31,000/-(initially first two years) + Rs 35,000 (afterward till the end of the project).

Registration for PhD. : Selected candidates will be given the opportunity for a full time PhD program at BITS, Pilani as per the institute norms.
