    Recently, during inauguration of Global Innovation Summit of the pharmaceuticals sector Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed, India as the Pharmacy of the world. He said that our definition of wellness is not limited by physical boundaries. We have exported life-saving medicines and medical equipment to over 150 countries during the initial phase of the pandemic. We have also exported more than 65 million doses of COVID vaccines to nearly 100 countries this year.

    The pulse oximeter, which is used for evaluating the oxygen status of patients in a variety of clinical settings, has become an house-hold instrument in this COVID-19 pandemic. It is a way to measure how much oxygen is carrying in blood by using a small device called a pulse oximeter, blood oxygen level can be checked without needing to be stuck with a  needle. The blood oxygen level measured with an oximeter is called your oxygen saturation level.   • Atezolizumab and other immune-stimulatory anti-cancer drugs: risk of severe cutaneous adverse reactions

    Cases of severe cutaneous adverse reactions, including Stevens-Johnsons syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), have been reported in patients treated with immune-stimulatory anti-cancer drugs, including atezolizumab. Advise patients to be vigilant for the signs of severe skin reactions and to seek urgent medical advice if they occur.

    The Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy has emerged as a breakthrough in cancer treatment. Clinical trials conducted globally have shown promising results in end stage patients, especially in patients suffering from Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Though this technology has a remarkable therapeutic potential for cancer patients, at present this technology is not available in India. Each patient's CAR-T cell therapy costs 3-4 crore (INR).
