The council was created under the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Act 1995, following demands of Ladakhi people to make Leh District a new Indian Union Territory because of its religious and cultural differences with the rest of Jammu and Kashmir. In October 1993, the Indian Union Government and the Jammu and Kashmir State Government agreed to grant Ladakh the status of Autonomous Hill Council. The council came into being with the holding of elections on 28 August 1995

In this regard, District Health Society Reasi intends to hire Registered Pharmacists from District Reasi to work on profit share basis at Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra (PMBJAK) to be established at District Hospital Reasi.

Though the concept of Hill Council was first fructified in Leh District in 1995 on the pattern of Darjeeling Hill Development Council, it was introduced in Kargil during the year 2003. The then esteemed coalition Govt.; headed by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was instrumental in bringing Kargil District in the ambit of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council for the border development of the people of the area. The Hill Council in Kargil came in to existence in July 2003. In the 30 Councilors team, 26 Councilors were elected from the respective constituencies, 4 Councilors were nominated from the Principal Minority and Women folk.

In this regard District Health Society Samba intends to hire Registered Pharmacists from District Samba to work on profit share basis at Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushdi Kendra (PMBJAK) to be established at District Hospital Samba.

Order No. 442 – HME of 2019 Dated: 24-04-2019, applications are invited from the eligible Registered Pharmacists of District Budgam to work on Profit Sharing basis under Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras (PMBJAKs) to be set up at various Health Institutions of District Budgam.
