Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt, of India. The institute is an integral part of the interdisciplinary NCR Biotech Science Cluster located at Faridabad, and is designed as a dynamic, interactive organization with the mission to conduct innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into tangible products to improve human health.

This recruitment is to fill up the vacancies of THSTI under the projects of CBD, PBC and VIDRC.

Bureau of Pharma Public Sector Undertakings of India, (Under the Dept. of Pharmaceuticals Govt. of India) is a nodal agency for implementing Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana for Government of India. The noble objective of scheme is to making quality generic medicines available at affordable prices for all, through specialized outlets called Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJK). BPPI is procuring drugs from both private manufacturing unit and Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSE), so requires technical experts who can undertake G.M.P. inspection both before selection of manufacturing unit and during the production of the drugs in the manufacturing unit. Expert is also required to do GLP inspection of drug testing labs.

Applications are invited from experienced persons for empanelment as Technical Expert for conducting GMP inspection of manufacturing unit and Drug testing labs. THSTI has set up niche centres for research in areas relevant to planned translational work. They are: Vaccine and Infectious Disease Research Centre (VIDRC), Paediatric Biology Centre (PBC), Centre for Bio-design & Diagnostics (CBD), Drug Discovery Research Centre (DDRC), Centre for Human Microbial Ecology (CHME) and Policy Centre for Biomedical Research (PCBR). Clinical Development Services Agency (CDSA) and National Bio-design Alliance (NBA) are THSTI’s extramural centres.

Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India launched CDSA on 28 September 2009 as an extramural unit of Translational Health Science & Technology Institute (THSTI). It was created to facilitate development of affordable healthcare products for public health diseases.

IDPL is the largest Central Pharma Public Sector Undertaking in India with plants at Rishikesh, Gurgaon & Hyderabad and two Subsidiary Units at Chennai and Muzaffarpur. IDPL played a major role in the strategic National Health Programmes like Family Welfare Programme & Population Control (Mala-D & Mala-N) anti-malarials (Chloroquine) and prevention of dehydration (ORS) by providing quality medicines. During the country’s calamity of outbreak of Plague in 1994, IDPL was the only company which played the sheet anchor role in supplying Tetracycline for the entire Nation. Similarly, company had made uninterrupted supply of Chloroquine to combat Malaria epidemic in different parts of the country.
