NIAB invites applications for admission to its PhD program in Biotechnology from highly motivated students for the 2025-2026 Academic Session. The institute provides opportunities for pursuing cutting-edge research using advanced technologies in frontier areas of Animal Biotechnology.

Research experience, knowledge in extraction and isolation techniques chromatography purification, HPLC, etc and characterization of natural products and their modifications. M.Sc, M.S. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Natural Products Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry from a recognized university or equivalent.

Masters, Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences MVSc, Animal Sciences. OR Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent. AND 2 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.

The candidate is expected to perform cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry experiments etc. e.g. cell culture, flow cytometry, immunofluorece imaging, western blotting. RT-PCR experiments annotate and analyse data.

Fermentation & downstream scaleup for soluble expression of E.coli based recombinant CRM197 carrier protein. Masters, Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences MVSc, Animal Sciences. OR Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.

Candidates having M.Sc. or an equivalent qualification in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics or allied Life Science subjects with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade point are eligible to apply.

Work in the research project entitled Integrated pilot scale production of pigment, sophorolipid, and β-glucan from sabji-mandi waste through Yeast-mediated fermentation : A Waste to wealth scheme with a single process multi-product biorefinery model.

The preference will be given to candidates who have hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: Work experience in the area of molecular biology, cell biology bacterial and mammalian cell culture, protein biochemistry, structural biology and animal handling.
